I am actually over the moon at this, think people forget how hard it is to get a good keeper for a reasonable price. Think Foster is one of the top young keepers in Europe and im certain of that.

    Very happy.

Good goalkeepers seem to be few and far between these days and the good ones are either too old, or tied up at their current club.

£2m is a great price for us.

Great for him to sign a 4-year deal big Fraser has the makings of a superb keeper...

Haha, I've been trying to find that Newcastle forum/blog where that guy was constantly slagging the Hoops.
He posted at least 3 or 4 times over the last year about how there was no way in * FF would come back here because we're such a * club and Newcastle are far bigger and better :56:

I really wanna find that guy's blog again and post simply and shortly:

    u mad bro?

Glad this has been put to bed. As a keeper myself, I wish Forster all the best and hope that he continues to work hard and improve his game:celt_2:

£2million would seem like more of a bargain if there hadn't been a better goalkeeper available for nothing.

Not nothing, probably higher wages and a higher signing on fee for an injury prone guy with very little resale value. So yeah.

I'm not sure what to make of that story to be honest. I think Neil Lennon's first choice was always to sign Fraser Forster so there's something about the Craig Gordon story that doesn't ring true to me.

Maybe cause we never heard anything before hand? or maybe I just never heard the rumours, if there was any.

Forster was always the no.1 choice, did we even make any moves for Gordon? I dont think so.

Forster @ £2m represents far better value for money than Craig Gordon as a free agent.

Maybe we told Gordon he was 2nd choice and wed take him if Forster turned us down, but if Forster signed then he could tell the press he turned us down to save any embarassment.

The first choice was always FF.

    Second was the holy goalie.

    Third was probably Gordon.

But honestly I would rather have FF first and Gordon second. I LOVED and was a MAJOR FAN of the holy goalie (I even have Pope JPII shirts like his) but I think he is past his prime at this point. Forster is rapidly becoming one of the best keepers in Britain and I really believe he could become a Celtic great if he stays here. He was a key to our title success. A vital key. And it was because of him we set one of our best defensive records in yearsssss

His record for us is fantastic considering the defence that was in front of him for most games

Maybe it was a move to force Forster into making a decision?

Either way, i'm delighted. he was my first choice. thought he was our most improved player last season and that is saying something with Mulgrew in the team.

He is now a superb keeper. Worth many, many times more than what we paid for him and over and above that worth a shitload of points.

What a display from the big man. And not for the first time this season.

He could come round my house, shout at my weans, * my wife and * in my sink and I would still love him.
