Fraser Forster

Yeah granted, Gordon is the riskiest of the 3 - injury prone and quite frail. If we managed to get him fit then he'd be nearly as good a goalkeeper as Artur Boruc.

 

I want us to keep Fraser Forster. As good a second keeper as Lukasz Zaluska is, I'd let him and go and try to bring in Craig Gordon. The competition would bring out the best in both keepers.

 

I think that would cause problems, Zulaska is a good keeper and seems to be enjoying his time at Celtic even if he is back up. I'd leave that as is.

 

Noruc has 3 league titles forster has 1 and forster has more clean sheets as his defence is much better than the one artur had

 

For me, it's:

Forster & Gordon; Forster & Boruc; or Gordon & Boruc.
We have to have two keepers challenging each other.

 

I was talking about the clean sheet record. I know there is a lot of different factors in that, Artur had a far more settled defence infront of him though.

For the first 6 months of the season and indeed the season before the amount of different combinations that we went through was insane and could not be good for any keeper.

 

the three guys that stand a half decent chance on being our number 1 are: gordon, forster and boruc.

gordon is a great keeper, no doubt about it. but whether or not he can keep fit for long enough is a big question mark. no harm in letting our medical team give him a once over, but hed be my 3rd choice.

forster is a promising young keeper. we know what he can/cant do, has a great record in the spl and knows the defence/team already. at 23 he will get better, and european experience will only help him improve, he will also have a good sell on value. but he hasnt made as many spectacular saves like boruc did. id be very happy to see him as our number one next year.

boruc has all the experience in the world, both european and international experience under his belt. but he is past his best, though that will still be good enough for spl football. whether or not coming back is a good move for him or not we dont know. maybe he is the vocal organiser and experienced head that we could do with in the back 5.

id rather forster, but i wouldnt say no to boruc.

 

Past his best? Have you had a chance to see him playing for Fiorentina? He has been outstanding for them this season and pushed Sebastian Frey, another outstanding goalkeeper, out of the club altogether.

 

I think we definitely need two competitive keepers, and it would be better if they were two different types of keepers with slightly different skills. For example, Gordon and Boruc are both quite agile and acrobatic; while Forster finds it harder to get down, but his handling is a lot better and he has brilliant vision.

I'd say Forster and one of Boruc or Gordon would be abolutely ideal.

 

ive seen them play a few times, he wasnt particularly outstanding in any of the games. though it could just be that ive only seen games where he hasnt been at his best.

The number one reason Fiorentina weren't relegated this year. Been worth a lot more than 10 points to them this season.

From what Lenny has said as well (unless its another player, can't quite remember) his agent basically goes awol whenever they want to sit round the table to thrash out a deal.

 

Surely if Forster wanted to sign then he' have instructed his agent to sort it out by now. If the player wants the move, the agent isn't going to just refuse his employer's request.
