Yes, Boruc was poor in his last season and unprofessional - but the guy admittedly was going through some personal problems at the time.

He has been seeing a psychologist over the past few years at Fiorentina and has been applying himself excellently.

I would have absolutely no qualms about re-signing Boruc - a goalkeeper with PROVEN European and International quality.

He's more than done the job for us. I'd love to have him here longer.

You're more than entitled to disagree (in fact, I welcome it), but if you read my post again, I'm not doing Artur a disservice at all. I've already acknowledged that he was a great goalkeeper and servant for us, but was simply addressing the fact that I think some people are unwilling to compare Forster to Boruc and accept that the former could one day surpass the achievements and ability of the latter, simply because Forster does not have the colourful character that Boruc does and doesn't stick it to the Huns as much.

I said earlier that one of the main reasons Boruc became as popular as he did here was because he hated the Huns and I stand by that. Nowhere did I say that it was the only reason though. I know how good he is and what he did for the club, but I think Forster has the potential to become better, bearing in mind he's still young and still learning. Boruc was already a good bit into his career when he came here in 2005.

I really hope we do sign him but if he doesn't want to come then so be it - either Gordon or Boruc will do for me, we also have a more than capable back-up in Zaluska

I really think we should give Zaluska a chance before he goes signing any Boruc or Gorden. Zaluska's a great keeper who is clearly really happy here, so I think he should be our next in line if Forster goes.

Hmm..I'm not sure - we need 2 good goalkeepers to challenge. Signing Gordon or Boruc would mean we have signed a potentially world class player for nothing. Yes, they both have their problems (injury for gordon, attitude for Boruc) but having 2 good goalkeepers is a must, it was the one downfall of our 2003 side.

probably my most improved player and that's saying something with the season Mulgrew has had.

    hope we sign him.

Sorry have to disagree, until Forster does what Boruc did for us in the CL there is no hope in * he can even lace his boots :50:

Fraser Forster will better and has already bettered Arturs achievement in the league however in Europe the sheer ability, agility and reflexes of Artur Boruc are miles ahead of Fraser.

The big man has excellent positioning and has exceptional concentration but he doesn't have the ability of Artur.

I'm undecided on what is better at the moment. However at 23 if we manage to sign Fraser then he has the oppurtunity to become the greatest keeper in our history in my opinion.

Forster would be a far safer signing than Boruc. He will also have a sell-on value, something we have to take into account when signing players these days.

I know mate but I don't think we'll be able to sign Fraser to be honest. I think his heads turned down south at the moment.

Artur if he were to sign again would know what is expected, he has screwed the nut in Italy and most of the problems in his personal life are now been and gone.

He would again be spectacular, if he re-signed I think that would be him until his career ended. If we are seriously looking towards the Champions League then a keeper like Artur is required in my opinion.

Agree, I think Hodgson and his squad put any thoughts of Forster returning firmly to bed. If we can still get Forster then I'd be delighted but it's a good position to be in really. Probably a good chance we will sign one out of Forster, Boruc or Gordon and I'd have no qualms with any of them signing!

I wouldn't want Gordon. His body is weak.

    Great keeper though.
