Except in Europe. We reached the last 16 twice with Boruc in goals and won 3 leagues...

Boruc was possibly the biggest reason for that along with Nakamura and Scott McDonald.

Aye big Artur saved our bacon on a few occasions in the European matches, no doubt about that.

I'll never forget that penalty save against Saha.

    Yes, Europe is different.

Having said that, in our unsuccessful group stage this season, Fraser still conceded fewer goals per game than Artur did during our two successful group stages under GS.

Hoping to see him tested in the CL later this year. :celt_2:

If you look past Boruc, Forster has been our best keeper in about 20 year,

I'd love him tae sign but the ball is in his court now

I don't think it was really the goals per game, it was the massive saves in the big moments that frankly defied all logic by not going in the * net.

Artur was a freak of nature, he wasn't loved because he hated the Huns that was just the icing on the cake. He was loved because he was an insane goalkeeper.

depends on the alternative. I see him as a solid goalie who has gone from being well dodgy to reliable and a decent more confident shot stopper. He is not that great though and the 'hes only 23' arguement doesnt matter. All moderately decent players are 23 once and few of them turn into top class players. Being decent at 23 doesnt mean you will be superb at 26. Some players just dont improve all that much. His heel dragging is really getting tiresome. He just isnt so good that I would let him string us along much longer. Now in Craig Gordon or the 2nd coming of Boruc we do have players who there is no doubt are quality and will give us a chance in the CL. Lets not be niave. We need a BRILLIANT goalie to get through the CL. Without Artur we would never in 100 years have had those CL runs. An average goalie would not have been good enough.

That an obscure and weird stat to throw up and if anything it just shows how dodgy stats can be. Forster is not fit to lace Arturs boots. Not remotely in the same class.

aye in the CL Artur would produce an unbelievable amount of incredible save and one thing he was amazing at was on one on ones with a player going through on goal. he just totally psyched out the striker in those situation rather like Schmicel used to do for Man U.

If Forster signs I'll be happy enough - not ecstatic though.

If we were to sign Boruc, I'd scream like a wee girl!

Boruc was pretty poor in his last season with us, and worse, for me, was often unprofessional and didnt apply himself to us. Though prior to that he was excellent.

Gordon has been released from Sunderland for a reason. He is injury prone and will command a wage that would be at least as much as Forster would be looking at.

I can see us going through the same * this summer if we fail to agree terms with FF.

There's also no doubt that he cost us a fair few as well.

I agree ... but that was then.

I think he's re-invested himself and found that spark again playing for Fiorentina.

I think he'd do well here again. Great GK's play well into their late 30's, early 40's ... there's no reason why he can't come back and help guide our team to further trophies.

FF's worth twice as much as Boruc now IMO. One's in his final years, the other's only getting started.

Boruc isn't 'in his final years'

He's only 32 got another 6 years or so, potentially more.

No. If he has his own work ethic.
