Try listening to the * on radio. He's the true epitomy of the English attitude to Scottish - and some might argue non-English - football.

Now I think we match plenty of the teams in the EPL (and would much even more if our striker force was sorted), but he has a bit of a point. Its great we haven't conceded but we are playing in a low-pressure league at the minute. Its fine to admit it - the SPL is the least competitive its ever been.

And yea, Fraser's succession of clean sheets is very good for the defense and for him, but he hasn't been called to work for it in the way past keepers have.

I'd disagree. We regularly played with low pressure in previous seasons where the league was wrapped up by xmas or not long after and conceded goals and being beaten by lesser teams. If anything the lack of competition would theoretically lead to players not trying as hard due to the fact they find it so easy, or leaving ourselves open due to a lack of concentration during games, which would be easy to do when you're clearly miles ahead of the rest of the league.

It's testament to Forster and the team in general that they've kept these unbeaten and clean sheets runs going. A credit to their professionalism that, despite a severe lack of competition domestically, they still go out totally focused on giving 100% which is the reason for these runs. And long may they continue. While the defence in front of him has been immense, Forster has more than made his fair share of saves, games such as beating Hibs 4-0 away, 1-0 away to Inverness in December and even at the weekend against St. Mirren he has made numerous brilliant saves and earned us a good few points along the way no doubt.

This guy Durham is just a pro EPL (best league in the world!!!!!) * by the sounds of it. Yet he shows an awful lot of interest in what "wee, insignificant" Celtic are doing.

So let me get this straight: It'll be an embarrassment if Fraser Forster doesn't manage to go 14 games and 52mins without conceding a single goal?

Adrian Durham really is a prize *.

So your argument is that because there aren't many teams capable of seriously threatening goal, its harder to keep clean sheets? That doesn't convince me.

Even in the past when the league was "wrapped up by Christmas" (when the last time that was predates me as a Celtic fan I think, which isn't especially difficult), we still had to play teams every so often. Rangers posed a difficulty tenfold what we now face. Hearts were on a higher level than the current competition bar MAYBE Aberdeen. Dundee United were decent as well over the last few years alone.

Its great the defense is doing well. its great Fraser is a great goalie. However, his record is simply not what it would be if we had ANY decent competition.

What were the wage bills of the teams that Van Der Sar played against?

I commented on this post back in 2012 and it was one of the main reasons I left the forum. At the time I seen Fraser as a big clumsy guy whose handling from corners etc was * poor and failed Europa campain proved that as well as few other mistakes. I did however underestimate how much he was then going to dedicate himself to become a top keeper. When I wrote in the past he wouldn't of dare kick with his left as he was struggling with his right!

The transformation has been amazing and as a Celtic fan I am happy he has been a success.

His clean sheet record cannot be dulled by not playing against messi week in week out. The fact is we don't have messi's etc in our team either so it's a b level team breaking a world record in a b level league where van der sar is a level team in a level league.

But the strikers are not as good!

VDS was up against better strikers but he had a better squad and better defence too!

The record holds it's own merit and the adulation worldwide proves this point.

The boruc bashing on earlier posts was unacceptable for me as he was a fantastic goalie. That's why I left and why I will now leave again.

If talents like him cannot be appreciated by a lot of our own fans then I don't think we deserve them. I hold my hands up to bashing Fraser but I credit him to the way he has proved himself.

Some fans still carry the hope of us having the worlds best players. Only a move to England will that ever become a realistic chance but that's for another day.

    See u in 2 years!!

No irony as admitted I was wrong, not to mention at the time fraz wasn't a talent to appreciate, however boruc was from day 1. I appreciate Fraser now as he has proven his ability but enjoy basking in your cliches of irony

Are players from Burnley good enough for Arsenal? It would be pompous and ignorant to suggest they can’t be. Look at Jay Rodriguez if you disagree. Technically brilliant, and he can finish

says that in the same article but its not pompous and ignorant to suggest fraser forster can be good enough

The big man needs to get to the 31st minute against the diets on Saturday to break the record.

What minute is Forster on now? Do they count stoppage time?

Anybody got a list of all the keepers ranked with over 1,000 minutes?
