I rate Zaluska as a back up, but not first choice keeper.

He is no where near Forster in terms of ability.

And he wouldn't have done any better than Forster did either. Because he was not to blame for the shambles the other night.

It doesn't take much to establish who's in charge when it comes to crosses into the box, just a shout will very quickly educate whoever is in from of him.
Time and time again he is rooted to his goal line, he repeatedly takes a step forward then back again causing confusion. It really isn't a long drawn out process to establish the kind of understanding I'm referring to irrespective of who makes up the back 4.

I am in agreement. I have always thought Zaluska is a better all round keeper than Forster, but Lenny loves to play his favorites, and Forster is one of them.

Forster was terrible against Barcelona, and * was that all about with Forster going up for a cross and ending up giving away a corner. Comic book stuff from a comic goalkeeper :87:

Yeah, I'm not as high on Forster as some but it is absurd to say Zaluska is anywhere near as good as him.

Sczeney's actually been very good this season and Arsenal don't buy English players so no way he's going there.

What a load of ridiculous *. Not a single goal conceded this season has been his fault.
"Unsettled our rearguard" :56: * are you on about? This is Celtic's best defence for a decade and you don't think having a European-class, consistent, international goalkeeper behind them has helped whatsoever?

As usual, this will be a case of you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone. I too believe we should sell FF now as sadly his heart isn't in it any more, but just like Hooper we will not be able to replace him for anything less than 10 million. I cannot think of a single goalkeeper in the entire world we could possibly buy who will be as good, and yet as cheap as him.

Forster has let in 18 goals this Champions League Campaign, yes 18 goals, and you are trying to tell me its the defenders in front of him responsible for that ? No, it's the goalies job to keep the ball from entering the net when all is said and done, not the other way around, and 18 goals is unacceptable at this level for a Celtic goalkeeper IMO.

You would never see a goalie of the calibre of Allen McGregor letting 18 goals in similar circumstances

Erm, yes? The vast, vast majority of goals in any game are due to either poor defending or great attacking, goalie mistakes account for a tiny percentage of goals conceded. It is completely stupid and ridiculous to use stats to judge a goalkeeper. Barca could have a 7 year old pony in nets and still only concede 30 a season, just like a poor team could have a brilliant goalie who concedes 4 each match.
It is a team game but the keeper is so isolated that he actually rarely directly contributes to the outcome of a game, all the other players and even officials often have much more influence than the GK.

Utter rubbish, again. The goalie relies almost entirely on his defence and is quite literally nothing more than the "last line" of that defence. Incidentally, Forster is probably the best "last line" i've ever seen as the amount of one-on-ones he wins is phenomenal. Messi, Neymar, Balotelli, and more have been astounded by him and his brilliant shotstopping. He may have conceded to them all but he's also stopped them on multiple occasions - which you seem delighted to wilfully ignore.

    Oh right, you're just a troll :50:
Sorry mate I didn't realise at first. Carry on.
    p.s. it's Allan, not Allen.

We won't know what we've got till he is gone. Quality goalkeeper. Short minded I think for some.

On the one hand you say we have the best defence in years, and then go on to suggest its the defence in front of Forster that cost us the eighteen goals, not the big windmill with no hands who won't come off his line, and the shitebag who is scared to come of his line and command his own six yard box, aye right. You can't have it both ways. :smiley-laughing002:

You gloss over the totally unacceptable 18 goals that Forster has conceded, yes he has conceded them nobody else because that is his job to keep the ball out of the net, but you continually and wilfully choose to ignore that fact. :50:

The McGregor comparison is a comparison, and a good one too IMO, no matter what you say. No way would McGregor have let 18 goals in that position. Pretty sure a lot of people would agree with me on that one.:50:

If this is our best defence I wouldn't like to see our worse one :56:
18 goals conceded by Forster in the Champions League and Big Bombshell Ambrose in our defence :47:

If that is aimed at me it's a pretty weak comeback.
I was hoping for something more substantial we could get our teeth into, and debate and discuss the finer issues of the argument.

I am not one of those Celtic supporters with green tinted specs on, who thinks everything is rosy in the garden.

Indeed, you appear to be one of those Celtic fans who walks around with an opaque bucket on your head, tinfoil in your ears and an internet connection which blacks out on matchdays.
I have no idea who provided you with your information on Forster but i'm sorry to inform you that they are entirely mistaken.

I've already corrected you multiple times so there's little point again. You said he had "no hands" though?!?!?! He's got the biggest hands since the * elephant man.

I repeat, NONE of the goals conceded by Celtic in the Champions League group stage this season were solely and squarely the fault of Fraser Forster. The only one of which blame can be attributed to him was Kaka's header vs Milan, but, as I poined out earlier, the defence and other players should have done their part which they abysmally failed to do.

Many people seem to be completely blind to the fact that the reason he is so stationary and reluctant to come off his line is because he saves the majority of his one-on-ones. If he came out more often he would lose many more goals, as he would either be chipped, side footed past, or would be rounded and either concede or give away a penalty and be sent off.
You'd like that would you? Spurs can keep their rampaging Lloris thankyou, i'll stick with Forster who stays because he has seen that more often than not, it pays off for him.

Anyway text clearly makes no impact on you so here's some visuals in the feint hope that your bizarre and factually incorrect opinions are positively altered.

Your posts are full of so many pointless insults. Can you actually post without having to make sarky little digs at people?

Being a good shot stopper doesn't make you a top goalkeeper. So showing video clips of a few random saves doesn't prove anything.
