please don't tell me you are compairing a young keepers mistake like Forster to a mistake by a living legend of Goalkeeping in Buffon, you can't compare them and say no one complains about Buffon, they are no where near the same level, so therefor, no comparision.

I'm confident you'll happily admit you were wrong about Fraser come the end of the season.

Lets all just give the big man our backing.

He did say he wanted to stay here, in a few articles last season. This is still not permanent, but Fraser will require almost no time getting accustomed to teammates. A plus. Can't believe we can't afford higher wages, though.

Well, FF was the keeper we wanted originally - looks like we've finally got our man.

Added bonuses: English as first language, knows the lads well, & was part of a very successful defensive unit last season.

A loan-with-option-to-buy deal would also be great, for several reasons:

    1) Unlike a full signing, a loan deal can hopefully be pushed thru in time for him to play against Sion
    2) He's still young: this gives us another season to monitor his development, before committing long-term
    3) It also gives us the option of signing the presently-injured Craig Gordon on a pre-contract in jan

Lads is it not obvious we havent got much money to be splashing around this transfere window, thats why we missed out on Sandomeriski who would have cost £2m, im happy to have Forster on loan with an option, if he dosent look like improving we dont buy him next summer, we all know hes better than Zaluska, and not forgetting Sandomeriski been quoted as saying something along the lines that he was as good as zaluska IIRC.

Any confirmation on this? Thank * its only a loan , he got on my * always punching the ball away and never catching it . Also hes about as agile as johnny Vegas .

Still , I'm willing to back him for another season as he is young , but we should be doing better than panic buys .

No. But Forster doesn't need to be like that. We just need a stable, calm GK who does sensible things. Forster is that.

got to disagree on the panic buy part mate, we wanted him from the very beginning, also, the whole punching the ball ect, he will get better with experience, which at CelticPark he will get, and you dont need to be super agile to be a keeper, look at Buffon, think Forster could turn out awesome this season, great talent with promise.

He is miles better than Zaluska, anyone can see that. While I am disappointed to miss out on cudicini this is a good move for a number of reasons, Forster is very young and had a very good season last year, it was also the first time he had played full time at a competitive level and he set a league record. It will also help team chemistry since he is already friends with everyone and is used to playing with them

Don't understand all the negativity towards Forster.

He's young. He set a new record last season. Tipped to be England no 1 in the future, though moving here could scupper that.

I think because he's so big people forget he's young and that opens him up to more criticism than a 'normal' sized person his age :)

The problem with that though is the option to buy will be long gone by the time the CL qualifiers come around.

:97: Why would you judge him on one preseason game when we've seen him perform well over nearly 50 competitive matches?

I don't understand how anyone can think Zaluska is better than Forster. Lenny is signing him for a reason.

    Let the people sing!!!
Cant believe how negative this thread is.

Everyone has been moaning we need a keeper and slagging off the board/lenny about the situation. We go back and get our no.1 from last year who is VERY young for a goalkeeper and has great potential. The mistake we made last season was not having an option to buy, by the sounds of it we have sorted that this time.

Anyone who is unhappy with this signing, please go back and watch the 1st half of the Dundee Utd game and the Inter Milan game. Big FF is a better keeper than the one that arrived last season, this time next year he will be even better again.

I think losing out on the league has made our support go a little mental, been so negative on here the last few weeks. Keep the faith!!
