Would not pay 2million for this guy.

He has been suspect in too many games.

Doesn't come out as much as he should and consequently that has an effect on an already paceless defense.

Westwood is a better keeper - and we can get him for free. Common sense should prevail.

i used to worry everytime the ball went near boruc forster is safe and with a bit of confidence to command his area he is top draw either westwood or forster for me

I think £2m would be a bargain. He's young and there's definitely parts of his game that need work but the same goes for every goal-keeper at that age. He has some very good qualities though and has proved he's capable of keeping a brilliant record throughout the season.

He's got a lot of potential and I doubt we could get him for £2m.

em....he is. And yes, given i've been to pretty much every game home and away this season i have seen his saves, his positives, his negatives. Bandwagon?? Not at all. Oh and Davis' shot was from around 25 yards, it was a weak effort and any keeper who was decent at going down would have saved it. Did you see how hesitant he was at ICT last week in the cup game?

He's a bit slow on getting down as we seen from davis's 2mph shot but if you look at his clean sheet record, his save against st johnstone, his save against the huns, and his one against caley, the boy has talent. I wouldn't mind £2m, that was the max i wanted to go but...no more.

that term does my head in:31:

anyway no i never said he was 'celtic class', i think ther could be better keepers out ther for a similar price, my point was people are giving the guy a hard time when hes been good for us

if we sign another keeper who has never played for us how do you know he wont make mistakes in big games, boruc was a great keeper but made mistakes, all keepers do so why say you fear he will make a mistake in europe when it can happen to any keeper or player

and using those crappy smilies does mine in.

fair enough. it's all subjective. i don't think he has been that great. i would say he's been average. not much outstanding bar 3 or 4 good saves and nothing tragic. my point is i think we could do better and there is better value for money out there.

your next argument is true but he is more likely to make mistakes given his age and inexperience compared to other goalies in the market. i'm not confident with him when the ball is crossed in to our box or when one of our defenders passes it back to him. i would rather take a gamble on someone else.

Westwood on a free or alternatively an experienced european keeper in the 28-34 age group on a free (there seems to be lots of them knocking about) given the signings of mathews and wilson for next season we could potentially have a very young defence, an experienced, dominant & vocal keeper would be ideal.

I just think Forster doesnt command his box or kick well, wouldnt spend more than 1m on him.

I like the big lad, but I would sooner get Westward for free. If we have £2mil to spend on a keeper get Given or Andreas Isaksson.

Not for me, there's better options out there for £2m imo.

Seen the good and bad of him against the huns last week, too slow getting down to Davis' shot but then pulls off a world class save from the free kick.

If Fraser Forster is available for £2million I would take him. If Newcastle are determined to hold out for £4million I would look into the possibility of signing Westwood on a free.

NO WAY! £2million is well over the top IMO. I would pay £500-750k.

A 6ft 7in keeper who doesnt command his area, not for me as i think there is better value out there( Westwood on a free e.g.) Money will be at a premium next season so 2m should be spent elsewhere.

£2mil would seem like a really decent bit of business to me, good young keeper with potential, decent shot stopper, tall, not made many wild blunders, his kicking is woeful but that can be worked on.

I'd get him signed up, even if we bring in another keeper in the summer, need to have at least 2 half decent ones around and I don't see Zaluska staying.

I'm sure we could find someone better and more experienced to bring in, but the lad hasn't done that much wrong to warrant some of the negativity on here, it's surprising.

As soon as Fraser Forster can command his own box ill agree he can command a 2million fee.

    no f*king chance.

    that is all. :50:

    No thank you.

As said previously, the guy is 6 feet 7...yet fails at times to command his own box.

I've had the chance to see Westwood this season a few times, and have been impressed.

If we can snap him up for free, then use our cash next season on a GOOD CB AND STRIKER....i'll be delighted.
