It was said that he was not bought on his goal-scoring merits, but how he brings the midfield into play. Oh and what striker exactly you you buy for 4 mil who will garuntee you goals from the outset.

after 60 minutes of competitive football he's a dud, waste of money and average - gee I'm glad you don't have to assess my ability to do a job if you make your mind up after an hour

oh ok im glad you cleared that up. Its true that nowadays you have to pay 10 million to get a ball in a net. The issue at the backend of last season was our inability to score goals so im happy the club has spent the majority of our budget on a striker thats main asset is bringing the midfield into play and not, and not, scoring goals. Issue resolved.

I forgot are midfield were banging them in last season weren't they:rolleyes: Im sorry but if he can get a midfield scoring aswel as getting a few himself i will see it as 4 mil well spent. Obvisouly you know a 4mil goal-scoring machine i dont.

4m for a striker who on the night had a chance of a hattrick and blew it? for 4m you expect a little more.

like i said. ive explained my points in a previous post so no need for repetition.

fortune could be a decent signing but is nowhere near a world beater - a safe signing typical mowbray - i was hoping he was a bit faster and more agilic ....just looks like an average target man who likes the ball into feet ...he will score a few in the spl but skippy is still our best striker

I read your post, and id say from reading it you would have been the type of person calling for Henrik to be punted after his amazing competitive debut:rolleyes:

Last season none of the strikers were capable of holding up the ball for other players to come into attack, Big Jan kept giving fouls, Samaras trips up over his own ars, Mcdonald cant run with the ball, So I reckon we give the guy a chance. I dont think we played that badly last night apart from Donati and Naylor. We should have scored a couple of times but I am still hopefull for the next leg. I cant wait to see N Guemo and Brown play together so Fingers crossed.

Lets give it at least 2 games before we start slaughtering him.Give the guy a chance to settle in, judge him at end of the season.

fair enough but i just think the midfield dont score because they cant shoot. whether they get fortune to hold their hand isnt going to make much difference.

Listen EVERY player needs time to settle into EVERY side so gawd lets give them all time to gel as a team . I know its a tough lesson having a european game so early but thats not their doing and they will be doing their utmost to win

the difference being that henrik cost buttons? when your talkin about a player who cost us 4 million pounds that cant finish at least 3 relatively easy chances then i have every right to express my views on him wether or not you agree is up to you but its my view..if he cost us the same amount as henrik then maybe. just maybe i wouldnt be as harsh.

Fortune is not your 30 goal a season striker, i think he is more of an Andy Thom kind of player, will score between 15 and 20 goals a season and set up quite alot with bringing others into play as mogga said.

Back then we spent £2.2m on Thom who in my opinion was a cracking player.

Hope am wrong tho and he bangs in 30.

I am not a fortune teller BUT lets give the guys a chance because tm has staked a lot on him and I believe he has seen something in this guy and he stated right from the start that hes not a 30 goals a season player but that he will bring a lot to the team but he needs time
