I dont know how anyone can rate him at all.. he has nothing to his game... rarely comes out & commands his box or comes out when he shouldnt,,, takes forever to dive down for a ball.. his kickouts are terrible..

As someone said you build your team from the back & our no1 is brutal!

    * sort it out Lennon!! :31:

There is a reason why Forster was third choice goalkeeper down there, and it is showing now.Slow as molasses in going down or ground shots, terrible lack of communication between him and the defenders, and he is glued to his line.

Solution. Bring Zaluska back now, and sign Craig Gordon in January, and send Forster packing down to England again.

you fix the GK position before any place in the team. last port of defense and first start of attack. simple. if you have a crap keeper the effect it has on elsewhere is under-rated.

very true ... if you have no confidence in the keeper behind you as a defender you can lose confidence yourself!!

Ah another "our players need more big, bite, and heart" thread. Its the Scottish fan's answer to everything.

Dont like knocking Celtic players but he's 6'7" in height but looks like 5'5" when he comes out for a cross. With his height and build he should be coming for cross balls and taking out every * (including Celtic players) who gets in his way.

This is true. Regarding the point about the defence, the keeper also has a role to play, he has a clear view of the action and is supposed to talk to the players in front of him and instruct them. If this is not done, defenders get nervous and mistakes are made. It looks to me like Forster does not communicate effectively.

"As said it months ago & nothing has changed my mind- we should of signed Given in the summer simple as that.

Yet another Lenny mistake. We won't win the league this year "

I fear this may be true

"if he wasn't wee Neil from lurgan we'd b looking for him gone before now.[/QUOTE]"

Don't agree with that. It's the same stuff that's bandied about when talking about Paddy Mc Court.

Said he was pish after a half-dozen games and he's done nothing to make me change my mind!

If anything, it's turned out that he's even worse than I had originally thought!

I know. I'm afraid this one-track mental limitation is ingrained in the Scottish football mindset.

It's a big part of the reason we never achieve anything in Europe, or with our national team.

Our players with their "dig", "bite", "heart", and "engine" get routinely played off the park and humiliated by foreign players with their devilish exotic attributes - like "skill", "basic technique" and "intelligence".

i think you've tried to be a bit clever, im talking about the goalkeeping position, a touch like pele isnt necessary

Paddy, you spot on mate, then you sort your central Defence, then your striker/s, then you build your team around that solid spine. :50:
