I've got high hopes for this young fella:

As you can see already he has 1 assist in the league, 1 goal in the cup and 1 assist in Europe - all from right-back. His stats don't look that wonderful yet but he is highly rated by my best coaches and has been doing well. Right bit of pace on him at the moment - my youngest ever player and youngest ever goalscorer apparently!

Seems like an attacking full backm the stats that I'd be worried about is his decision making, off the ball & positioning. Him knowing how to use his speed is key. His anticipation is very high which is good but currently he'll be using his speed to remedy mistakes rather than exploit them.

He came through your youth system?

Got the makings of a good attacking full-back there. Hopefully his marking/positioning develops as he gets games.

Yeah there are some very good stats there punctuated with very bad but he is but young. He did come through my youth system - he was the one singled out as possibly the best player of his generation. Stats aside I've been very happy with him acting as my second choice right-back despite age! Certainly not really a good idea on paper at that age but he has done well. Just wonder how much his stats can improve from his base 16 year old level....

Physical ones will improve loads anyways except for jumping

Whats your 1st choice RB's determination, influence, workrate, teamwork, personality like??

Unfortunately full-back is my weakest positions hence this 16 year old getting used from time to time...

    First-choice is Chica:

    Work-rate: 17
    Team-work: 16
    Determination: 14
    Influence: 12
    Personality: Fairly ambitious

Needless to say Full-backs are one of my priorities come transfer time..

I wouldnt use him as a tutor either, leave the kid to develop by himself unless you get in a real good FB and if your dopey assistant says its a good idea, sack him! :icon_mrgreen:

Assistant/Coaches come up with some stupid advice.

e.g. Stancu - dribble down the right - I agreed

    *Months pass*

Stancu - Successfully learned to dribble down the right

    * 2 weeks later*

Stancu - dont dribble down the right - I agreed but the player told us where to go!

Stancu - Shouldnt shoot from distance

    Long Shots - 16
    Technique - 14
    Composure - 13
    Decisions - 12

I've agreed but that was after I looked at his long shot stat

Just noticed that Kaka' has joined Inter Milan for €44M, I cant see that happening IRL!

EDIT Rangers crashed out of the LC in the 3rd round to Airdrie United, thats believable!

Did someone say that FM highlights the key stats for the different player roles somewhere?

If so, can anyone tell me where I can see them?

Yeah assistant advice can be annoying. Anyway, just went to Camp Nou in another incredibly hard game - this time I got pummelled for 45 mins, WON A PEN! Luis Garcia put it away. They went right up the other end and equalised right away :( Apparently a keeper blunder (the usually superb Kameni uncharacteristically got a 5.1) :31:

So 1-1 it ended which is a decent result. It's not fair having the best team in the world as your fierce rivals!!!

I think you're thinking of when you goto the tactics screen, next to the drag down menu for player roles there should be an *advanced* button. Then the stats come up underneath for each role, highlighting the particular attributes that are most important.

    I did

After you set your formation and choose your lineup go to the tactics screen and highlight a player, up comes their role/duty, description of the settings and the stats of the players and the key ones for that type of a player

Must look at Kameni, not happy with Boruc at the moment

    That's how you do it!

I would fully recommend him. Certainly a large hand in making my defence so solid last year compared to similar teams around me in the league. Only reservation is he can miss a good few games due to African Cup of Nations. Which in your case with Boruc potentially as backup is no biggy, but for me it was pretty tense stuff.

    Thanks.

Thinking of a wee change in style for next year, an Arsenal/Barca-esque style of play and I need a forward to suit.

Need someone with technique who can come deep and collect the ball and link the play (as Zlatan and RVP do), and it isn't McDonald.

I'm looking at reshaping the whole side really. Boruc, Hinkel, Brown, Maloney and McGeady are pretty much safe. But I'm looking at changing things around alot.

Ideally combining pace, power and height with technical ability. Easier said than done with Celtic sadly.

I wouldnt be holding onto Boruc, I could think of better things to do with 30k p/w than a backup Gk!

McGeady came off the bench too :icon_mrgreen:
