   My wife and her 8 mates just arrived back and told me they had to pay 10 Stg per head at Blackpool departures towards the 'Airport Development' fund.
   
   They were told if they did not pay it they could not check in.
   
   Extortion at its highest.

   That's what happens when you book flights from tiny little Mickey Mouse airports. Airports like this can only attract the likes of Ryanair to offer flights and Ryanair will pay the airport next to nothing for landing and using the airports facilities. This means the airport itself has to make its money by going down other avenues that major airports like London, Glasgow or Manchester wouldn't even think about.
