    Good on them!

Overall, Delaney and Quigley did very well!! There was the usual comment from one of the Committee trying to drag the Politics /Sectarian element in. But in the end he looked as though he thought they had a point.
The chairman and the chap Jackson seemed very reasonable. They committee were not very complimentary of the previous Chief Constable. Sounds like this will get changed but not chucked out!!!

the flares have got to stop now as its only get the club into trouble and maybe its going to take someone getting seriously injured or * forbid killed to get through to these people .

They seem to be more hassle than they are worth.

But how will someone be killed ?

in these away matches there are tight confined areas and it only takes someone to light a flare and some next to him could get there coat to catch fire or the smoke that these flares produce someone could have a bad chest and breathing that * in is not good .

I don't actually know how brain dead someone can be to light flares two, three, four times over after repeatedly being told it's costing and embarassing the club.

These morons should be given lifetime bans or asked to pay up. Of course when it comes to paying up they'll run behind their mammies and claim it wasn't them that did it.

just can't understand why you can get a club you supposedly support in trouble time and time again. Mind boggling.

You'd probably have a panic attack if you went to a ground in Europe :smiley-laughing002:

In all honesty I don't think the prospect of them killing people is an issue as the chances are very slim. I think the only respectable argument people can make is that the club are getting fined for it. People whose arguments are concerned with the danger of death or the clubs reputation are uncorroborated when all we're talking about is a mere smoke bomb or flare. The thing that irks me is that it just seems to be our club who are hit out with a backlash of abuse from the tabloids and even our own fans when a flare is seen among our support. You've either got to be critical of them all or critical of none.

Maybe they don't feel part of the club.. And take pleasure in winding up an out of touch and unsupportive board.

Maybe if the fans had an actual say on how the club was run, there would be better communication and understanding between different groups within our fan base and indeed those who run our club.

Certain songs are the next thing that will be outlawed and scorned upon.

Songs are already outlawed... Roll of honour for example... They are trying to silence people like a fascist government. Songs celebrating Irish pride are considered sectarian. Songs, flares, and banter are what make football football. No matter how much the SPFL tries to silence our fans there will be no end.

This shouldn't even have a thread this long.

It should keep the title and have one simple post only.

"The club has asked us not to, so stop"

    End of.

Flares do nothing to enhance football. It doesn't improve the atmosphere or the spectacle. If you are impressed by a bright light and some tinted smoke, then you are an imbecile.

If the Ultras can't live amongst our support without setting off flares, then it's time to disband them.

You may get a strong defence from the support for the singing of politically motivated songs because of our history - but that same support does not exist amongst the majority for flares and firecrackers.
