You're all over the * place. You wanna talk about flares ? Irish Republian songs ? The way UEFA applies the rules ? Or just your inability to comprehend no all fans are the same and just because some fans enjoy a different match day experience to you doesn't mean they support the team any less than you ?

    very good

i enjoy seeing the flares etc, but if the club are going to get fined it should stop. the flares arent the best part of the atmosphere so why use them?

Sadly, in this day & age getting fined or pulled up by UEFA is usually a sign that you're doing something right.

Totally correct. Who really cares what UEFA say; are Barcelona, Villareal, Inter Milan, Milan and all those other fans that admire us, are they suddenly going to be sitting in a cafe in northern Italy saying, "Hey! Guiseppe did you hear? Celtic got fined for some fans letting off some flairs."
"I can't believe it Mario. It's not that I'm angry but more disappointed"

I don't think so. I'm more happy retaining our identity and not being reduced to the grinding capitalist banality of the Premier League like Arsenal. That is all the fine is; a fine against having an identity. All they want is to gentrify every team to be palatable to everyone, this of course results in one team being indistinguishable from another. I would rather * UEFA off and keep our ways.

Especially when those * are letting off flares right, left & centre on a weekly basis! If you watch a Serie A game you'll hear and see them all the time!

Are all of those clubs being fined and frowned upon by UEFA and the footballing community?

Again, as a bit of a curmudgeon who would rather our fans keep us out of trouble at all costs, I find myself pretty much in agreement with all of this.

Though I'm not really sure where lighting a flare connects us in any way to our identity (we never lit them in the past as far as I can remember?) I still don't see any major harm in it, and if it * them off a little who gives a *.

UEFA are * clowns anyway, I don't mind being a small fly in their ointment now and again. I thought the "* UEFA" banner was class too, the whole organisation is corrupt from head to toe after all.

I don't mind if we are a bit "on the edge" so to speak now and again.

Right, I'm in the mood now - might pop outside and scare some cats :celt_2:

So, Flare = Fine , Fine = Fighting to protect our Identity, and we can best achieve that by setting off a glorified sparkler at games :smiley-laughing002:

I can only really echo what others have said. Flares don't really bother me, but I just think in the grand scheme of things it's probably a battle not worth fighting. The right to fly Palestinian flags, display banners and sing songs of Irish heroes and members of parliament certainly are more worthwhile battles to fight in my opinion.

I must say though, the notion that clubs and supporters should just roll over and accept ridiculous decisions by UEFA is pretty feeble.

Exactly but the * in the board will never do that

We get the odd 10k fine but how many fans would we lose if we got rid of all that and just became a normal club

"CELTIC Football Club today announced that it has identified three individuals connected with the use of pyrotechnics during the Club’s match against Stranraer yesterday (Sunday).
These individuals will be suspended indefinitely from attending Celtic matches and the Club’s investigations will continue.
Yesterday’s events have again caused embarrassment to Celtic and our supporters. On numerous occasions Celtic has stated its strong opposition to the use of pyrotechnics but regrettably again, a very small number of individuals, within a ticket allocation of 2,500, have damaged the Club."

Good to hear, you're a walloper if yoyre still setting them off after all the warnings and fines against the club.

Add any fines onto the cost of away tickets....it would soon sort itself out.

Celtic supporters with disabilities have asked for this to be stopped. Some people also have chest/lung conditions, which is made worse by pyros.

I just don't see how it is worth it? So some people can feel like rebels?

Personally I like to see flares and smoke bombs going off during games but unfortunately the authorities have banned this practice so I have to respect the law .
I just wish the mindless few would take this onboard as UEFA has already fined us a considerable sum of money for this and unless the practice ceases soon then this will cost us points or playing in empty stadiums . If that happens then we will all be severely * off and no doubt a mindless few would accuse the authorities of having a vendetta against us .
So give us a break boys and keep the flares and smoke bombs for the back garden to * the neighbours off and we can get back to talking about what happens on the pitch instead of the terracing.

People who spend the sort of money following us around that the flare throwers do should not be criticized for being stupid. The club will have to deal with it and move on.

Until the away fans decide to stop it will have to be viewed as the cost of doing business. At home however I am against the use of flairs because easily a majority of home fans don't want them. I personally don't like them but that's neither here nor there.

For all the do gooders asking about fines and money and so forth perhaps you could divert your attention to the 10 million, yes 10 million that left the club in exceptional expenses in the audited accounts previous to the last ones released.

The PLC spent 10m in exceptional expenses without explanation (and 3m the following year), until they account for this money they should not * about fines, both the club and the supporters unhappy we have to pay these fines.
