There seems to be a Millwall "nobody likes us and we dont care" attitude going on with some people.

I am pretty much vehemently against bad behavior which damages the clubs reputation and costs them money.

    But flares?

I just can't bring myself to get uppity about this. Fair enough if we end up getting stadium closure or something like that (which I doubt.)

But a £7,000 fine for lighting a flare? Meh.

Let the media rags go on about it. It just really doesn't register with me.

Clubs have been letting off flares for ever, and I don't hear of any major action.

Could be wrong, but I just don't see the need to get all Daily Mail on this one.

Stood next to a guy who let of a smoke bomb who put it on the ground then kicked it into a group of older guys infornt, got absolute pelters for it and it got thrown back at him quite rightly so.
A few folk also took photos of the young guy and took note of seat number then giving the information to the club and police, which is probably the only way we would eradicate the problem is by self policing.

Which will never happen anyway. Teams like AC Milan; Marseille, Olympiacos, Napoli etc will have had flares set off (in huge, impressive numbers, far more than the handfull we ever manage) for all of their home European games for the last twenty years plus. They have never had a stadium ban merely for setting off flares in that time to my knowledge. UEFA aren't picking us out so I see no reason why they'd come down harder on us.

It's a complete non-issue, which I guess shows why the British media would talk about it. The fine is so small in footballing terms it is hardly worth talking about.

A flare doesn't make me look harder, it just makes the stadium more coloured and exiting. I cannot understand why you all blame them. Are they dangerous? Come on.. Even alcohol is dangerous, or a plane, a car, everything can be dangerous so stop crying and just try to have fun at the stadium. But I think it's not in your culture, you just want to live the match for the 90minutes. You don't really care about the athmosphere, living the show as if it was a movie.
Beers before, beers after. Nothing else.
Why don't you get in before warm ups? Why?

Isn't this good? Or exiting? Come on.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boiltnPXrqE

What Celtic should do now is find the person/people responsible and make them pay the fine. It's only a small amount after all...

Yep.... and when BBC Scotland report the incident, as they will, stick his face up on TV - it's on the BBC Web site. Give the Lad his Celebrity moment before The Ckub suggests to UEFA they cut out the middle man and send the bill straighf to him.

Do other clubs in Europe get fined for this? Have seen far bigger pyro displays from other fans in Europe

This is what I have been wondering, you constantly see mass displays of flares and bangers weekly across Europe but we set of a couple and get hammered.

    It doesn't add up.

UEFA have a hardon for us. Lets be honest, they will fine us for anything and everything in recent years.
