I've known a female Doctor Who for ages.

She's away back to China now. Good woman.

I don't watch the show and never will. It looks laughably bad and the only people who seem to watch it are middle aged men who look like they've never had contact with a woman.

Who's up in arms? All I've seen is people dreading the inevitability when every big tv show and movie is more concerned about who's represented than actually being good.

If it's a gender less alien how would it being played by a woman open up any new creative possibilities?

Well you'd be very wrong about who watches it. But just keeping have a dig at people.

Plenty of people are up in arms. You said you're on Twitter...a quick search will show you just how many people are livid about it.

Wait a minute, I thought you said people are saying Doctor Who has ran out of ideas and isn't really good any more? So it's already not good...with a man as the Doctor? So them being more concerned about gender than the show being good is just made up pish from yourself?

Genderless as in the Doctor isn't specified as a male, unlike James Bond or Batman.

BBC are taking it too far. If woman are treated like equals then they should get a job on merit, not because of their gender.

QI (maybe even every bbc panel show) has to have at least one female on the panel at all times, meaning we get subjected to that unfunny cardboard box Sarah Millican more often than not.

You might watch but any people I've saw talking about tend to white middle aged men who look like they've never had a girlfriend.

I did search it. And there was more * talking about people being angry about the woman being a doctor than actual people complaining about the doctor being a woman. Always seem to be the case with * like this so I shouldn't really be surprised.

Your third point genuinely doesn't make any sense.

Again. If 'The Doctor' is a genderless alien like you said, why would a woman playing the doctor give it more creative possibilities if it's a genderless character. Even if they point out on the show about how it's the first female doctor. That isn't creative. It's like a female comedian talking about how they love food or *. It just isn't funny, creative or original.

For me, if a character is created as either a man or a woman, to switch it is just stupid. There is no reason to do it.

A character is created in a certain way, you need to keep it that way, its not sexiest or anything, it just is what it is.

Same with mythical creatures in films. Take vampires, vampires can not go outside during the daylight. That is the creation and rules of that creature. No ifs or buts. So to suddenly create some * reason why a vampire can waltz around in daylight during the twilight films is just * stupid. It breaks the rules and conventions of what that character is meant to be.

Same goes for genders or characters (although in the case of this one, the doctor is genderless, so you know. But im talking the bigger debate here), you can't just suddenly change it for the sake of diversity.

Aye hold on we will have a new film out about the tudors and we will just make the royals black and talk with southern american accents! Of course not, because it then doesnt represent what its meant to be representing.

Yes a character is something made up, but it is just that, its * made up so why the need to pc everything?

Good for you. You're one person though with a very closed mind.

Aye because people like myself can't believe how pathetic people like yourself, and others, are when it comes to stuff like this. We can't believe that anyone would get so annoyed about a change like this.

My third point does make sense. You claimed that the creators are more concerned about the gender of the character than making their TV show good. Well according to your Twitter chums it's already bad and running out of ideas. Therefore maybe, just maybe the creators are thinking "making a change like this could also let us run with stories we previously haven't went for." Stories that maybe wouldn't have been ideal for a 60 year old guy running about as the Doctor. Meaning, that perhaps the creators do care about making their TV show better and different?

For your last paragraph, look above. This all seems to be too much for you.

Batman - a white, rich male.
James Bond - a British spy...not sure if his skin colour was ever officially white in the books.
Wonder Woman - an Amazonian, female hero.
Doctor Who - An alien whose gender was never specified, from * Gallifrey (not real).

If they made Batman a black woman? Aye, that's just bending down to the SJW crowd. If they made James Bond a French woman? Aye, nonsense. If they made Wonder Woman a bloke from Bristol? * that.

Do you sort of see the odd one out?

Yes but you're missing the key thing here. Doctor Who was never specified as a male by it's creator.

Edit: Apologies, never saw you making that point halfway down.

I completely agree with you when it comes to the rest of it. Changing a character's skin colour or gender because it's "the done thing" is ridiculous.

Why change the gender of a character that's been played by a male for over 50 years? It just feels like their bending over for PC and SJW's. I'll give her a chance though since I heard the women has talent.

Read that first bit and thought "*" haha.

Im all for some more female fronted films and tv shows, go make some new ones though. Dont take an existing character and just change it for the sake of diversity.

Its the media equivalent of everyone gets a medal at a sports day.

You're clearly a fan of the show and taking it personal with how defensive you're acting when people are talking about the overall culture. I only said what I'd seen from people I follow who watch the show. They're all basically on the same page that the show has went to * and this is them trying to appeal to another demographic who they think will be fans of the show simply because it's a woman instead of a man.

There's a difference between genderless and a character who's gender can change. Genderless would mean they don't have a gender and if it was played by a man a woman or a tranny no one would point it out and it wouldn't come up anytime a different gender played the character. If you're saying that being a female will give it a new direction then it's clearly not a genderless character. It's a male character that they're changing to a female. Which isn't creative at all. It's one of the most unoriginal cash grabs that you can do.

You're such a noob. Blade is a half-vampire born to a human mother.
