    I've never liked Doctor Who and I doubt that'll change, but she seems like a good choice.

    She's a decent actress from what I've seen of her in other stuff and it's something a bit different for a show that's being doing the same thing for decades.

    Mate it's the most popular British TV show ever....not Scottish, nor cult!

    Although David Tennant is a good Scot and he's been the best Doctor this century.

    I've never watched it but from what I gather The Doctor is a genderless alien that regnerates into human form? Why would it not be a woman at some point?

    It's sci-fi, surely this is a good move to keep a character like this relevant.

    It's a genderless alien in a cheesy BBC TV show, mainly aimed at kids/teenagers....but it's a woman! We can't have that!
