First Celtic Game Attended

1966 we won 5-1 at home but I forget who we played. No ticket for me as I was one of the lift o'er generation.

Found out years later my Da always told my Ma he always paid for me to get in when in reality he'd spent the money on a pint.

 

Must have been about 1982-83 against Motherwell, I was about 5! Think everybody just bunged the stewards a couple of quid to get in!

 

No it was an away ticket, i went to a lot of away games to start with and my first trip to CP was the game v Ajax second leg, waited ages to get to paradise !

 

I remember getting a lifty in around about the 70s living local to cp as a boy, we were a big family with not a lot of money and the fuss and excitment on match day drew us towards the action on saturday.
Most of the games then i couldnt remember but we always came back with some money from celtic fans at the time, maybe they were happy at the results or just took pity on us.
We moved away and for a long time after i remember i was not interested in football and hated the highlights getting put on over my programes, the defining game for me was against aberdeen at hampden, it was a cup semi final and i think, i went along with my bro and pals.

I think this game connected me to celtic for life, we were a goal down and we scored to even it up, but late on mark mcghee scored the winner for the sheep and the emotions of the game and how it changed had me hooked and feeling of injustice of getting back level only to lose late on.

 

My first game was at the old parkhead against Motherwell in the dark days of maybe 1992-1993? We didnt win but cant remember much more than everyone was pretty * off. It was maybe my fourth game before I saw them win one. Different times...

I wasnt allowed to go to rangers games for a couple of years as my mum thought I was too young. My first was when we won 3 0 in May 1995. The league was long gone but still have happy memories of that, followed by the scottish cup v Airdrie a few weeks later.

 

Celtic and Seattle... first and only.

 

Celtic 1 Stranraer 0 in the Scottish Cup in the 87-88 season. I think McAvennie scored and they missed a penalty

 

My first ever game was a Celtic 1-3 Barcelona. Yes I jumped straight in the deep-end. I was only 8 or something back then so don't remember much about it.

My first game under the season ticket was against Artmedia Bratislava (am I allowed to say that). Second leg, we won 4-0 but it wasn't enough.

Since then I think I've only missed a handful of games.

 

We're way too close to CL qualifying to be bandying about that name!!

 

My first full game was around 2002/2003 or something, It was a uefa cup qualifier or something, I don't remember the tea,s name but We won 8-1 or something

 

Game in 98/99 i think it was beating Dunfermline 5-0. Larsson scored a hat-trick i think

 

Not exactly sure of my first home game bit could have been the infamous Rapid game. I also went to Old Trafford for the rematch

 

Just realised I was at all they games too!!

Good lad! I Went to ALL these games too- hardly missed a match home and away betweem 1979 and 1990!!!

 

@CP vs hearts 2-0 up to finish 2-2 2nd last game at CP before the Jungle got flattened

Incidently my bhoy's 1st game was hearts in the league cup - got pumped (bout 2.5 year ago)

And my daughters was Hearts this seson

 

St Mirren at a 'home' game at hampden in January 95.

We won 2-0, it was a 3rd round Scottish cup tie, Van Hoojidonk and Falconer scored.

It was my dad's first game in 20 years and he tried to pay at the gate, I still remember the look the woman at the gate gave him, like he'd just spat on her face.

 

HJK Helsinki I think in 2000, we won 2-0. I have a feeling I might have been to a league game against Hibs just before or after that but my memory fails me.

 

First game was the 91' Scottish cup semi final replay at Hampden versus Motherwell. I was six and the only memories are we got beat 4-2 and it was pishing of rain!

 

A pishy 0-0 home draw with Dundee Utd around 1989/1990.
