    TILL...

True story of a racially motivated murder of a 14 year old boy in 1955 in Mississippi.

Scandalous what went on back then.

    Worth a watch.

Admittedly a bit pretentious but bitiingly original none the less. Got a bit of a Peter Greenway vibe from it, and don't know if it'll be quite the award season darling that they perhaps hoped it would be, but there is enough dark humour, and social satire to make it worth checking out - and maybe worth sitting through again.

    Bones & All

Had no idea what to expect going into this and coming out of it, still not entirely sure what the point was. A bizarre cannibalistic road movie love story that don't think anyone was crying out for. No idea how they convinced the cast they had for this. One serving was enough.

The Stranger. Didn't realise how close the movie was to what actually happened

Another decent murder mystery well worth checking out for fans of the genre. Wouldn't mind sitting through this again before making a judgement on whether it is as good as Knives Out was, which stood up well on rewatch. Daniel Craig seems so much more like he is having so much more fun in the role of Blanc than he did for virtually his entire run as Bond.

    She Said

Dramatized version of the investigation that lead to the downfall of Harvey Weinstein. Good companion piece to films such as Bombshell and told in a very similiar style to Spotlight. The inclusion of some of the actual victims voices on telephone calls etc as well as Ashley Judd as herself really lends so much weight and authenticity to this. It's a shame that there are so many other creeps that were running Hollywood since day dot that never were challenged for this sort of behavior, and no doubt quite a few that dodged the Weinstein bullet and still run tinseltown.

Shark Bait - Not the absolute worst film I've seen in this genre. Nothing special but entertaining enough.

Currently watching First Man, the story of Neil Armstrong. I've grown out of the 'real or hoax?' phase that I enjoyed in my younger years, regarding the moon landing.

There's things that just get totally ignored about it, like how it affected him mentally in the lead up to it, how it affected his family, the gruelling training the astronauts go through to prepare them for space flight.

It really is miraculous the things human being can achieve. Pity that we, overall, are a * parasite.

    Violent Night

Santa Claus goes full Die Hard in this Christmas literally greatest hits. Hos this is only a 15 is a complete mystery though, to say the least... Definitely worth checking out.

    Summerily

A coming of age flick that is essentially a modern girls' version that borrows from Stand By Me, although don't think it is anywhere near as good as that movie.

    The Infernal Machine

A reclusive writer, whose only published novel inspired a mass shooting, is being stalked years later in this psychological thriller that is better in it's premise and concept than it is in its execution. Guy Pearce does well as the writer of the titular novel, but is the only real standout. it's ok but nothing special.

Just got around to watching Dune (2021 film).

Thought it was class. Not often does a sci fi film get me reading up on it's story universe straight afterwards.

This is Christmas. A bit cheesy and predictable but actually quite enjoyed it. Decent festive watching. 7/10

Midsommar is a marmite kind of film. I thought it was just mental the first time I saw it. Then it was on Film 4 a while back and it’s only on the second viewing that you really start to appreciate it. Some of the foreshadowing is fantastic.

Absolutely loved the movie (Banshees of Inisherin). Still not entirely sure the point of it but the dynamic between the characters, the script, cinematography and it's soul makes the movie what it is.

    Excellent stuff.
