Was really enjoyable - I expected it to be a Man U wankfest, but it was a very well balanced bit of work which recognised the importance of his time at Aberdeen.

Agree! And even though he played for the dead rangers, you could almost taste his hatred for them in that film. Its almost as how they treated him was the fuel for his success.

I don't get scared by movies, but the original TCSM still makes me a bit 'uneasy'. Same with The Exorcist and The Shining.

Aye that was ridiculous. I don't like it when movies that are meant to be horrors do stuff like that, it never works for me.

Trouble with the modern horrors is they usually have to work in not getting a signal for your mobile.

Aye the original was good. A really creepy feel to it, the setting etc. The movie probably contributed to my interpretation of what these remote, backwater places in the US might be like lol

Edit: Watched last night, not my type of film, really brutal in parts, struggled to keep watching it, not my number one war movie, but well worth a watch, it would certainly put you off wars!

    7/10.

Crown Vic 2019, really good low budget cop thriller, I really enjoyed it, keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout, good acting, especially from the crazy off the rails undercover cop "Jack VanZandt " Well worth a watch.

    A good 7/10 for me.

I get where you're coming from, as it's not a film I'd be in a hurry to check out again. As I said, it's been the better part of 30 years since last sat through, and while it is good it's no where near my list of top war/anti-war films either. If you've not caught it before highly recommend Downfall (about the last days of the * regime in the bunker), and Stalingrad is pretty * good also. They are just 2 that I'd highly recommend, if that is what you were looking for.

Not what I was expecting and a movie with a lot more going on than what has been promoted. The trailer is entirely misleading. Simple but effective enough story, not entirely original or based on actual true story, it's not an exerageration that it couldn't entirely be either and doesn't overstay it's welcome. Decent for what it is.

    Marry Me

It's Notting Hill 2022 basically. Nothing that special, not that bad either - certainly been far worse rom-coms have had to sit through. Although, J-Lo is closer to 60 in RL (mid 50s), than she is to the age her character is supposed to be in this movie though (30-ish), lol.

    Uncharted

No idea about the vid game, so don't ask, but it is what it is. Find stuff, double cross, actiony, runny bit, exploding whatever... don't think they got the casting right here at all, writing and didn't really feel there was any real chemistry between the leads - not that I know what they were supposed to be (idk, like a young Indiana Jones I'm guessing is what they are trying to present this as), but yeah, even without the AD and admittedly there is stuff I have no idea what was going on so maybe the AD will help with those gaps), but yeah... is what it is.

    Cyrano

This was actually quite good for what it is - a poetic, musical adaption of the Cyrano De Bergerac story. Peter Dinklage's take on the titular character is well done - think this was more deserving of a Best Actor nomination, same with Joaquin Phoenix in C'mon C'mon, than most of the performances that actually were nominated) and even his casting, to use his physical size as the impediment instead of some prosthetic phallic nose was a smart choice also. The film as a whole is a bit uneven, there are flaws in the writing, and the character of Roxanne herself, the focus of so much affection, it's never really explained or explored why all these men are drawn to her or what is it about her character, but overall, it still hits the feels.

Uncharted looks like a mess tbh. Was doomed from the start. Re-writes, directors dropping out, cast rejections etc.

Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg were awful choices for the roles. Holland is one of those guys who just cannot pass for looking older than about 20. I know this film is a prequel but if they intended on doing sequels they would never actually get to the story of any of the games without bastardising it.

    And Wahlberg as Sully…just mental.

Shame. The games are incredible and probably could be made into pretty decent films if they were treated with a bit more respect.

IPTV wasn't working so I put on Footsoldier 4 Marbella on Netflix. Pile of absolute pish. Like one of those * Danny Dyer films where half the characters call each other a * or a mug every 10 seconds.
