    I'm usually never one to stick the boot into FIFA because I love the game, but this is honking.

    Defending is terrible, players feel so stiff and one slight movement puts you off balance. Impossible to jockey anyone.

    Not impressed so far.

    * knows, I've only played 4 online games so far.

    I played the Demo and felt the same way but I usually always hate the demos. Think I just need to sit and sweat it out...probably doesn't help I'm hungover and feeling like * :56:

    Honestly when it comes to defending feels like midfield may as well not be there because they are all upfront and cba running back, drives me mad don't even feel like midfield exist. * game and I must hit woodwork twice a game minium

    I'm finding this as well.

    Midfield is non-existent. It was the same last year IMO but it seems to have been taken to a whole new level this time around.

    What formations are yous playing to feel like that ?

    I have noticed it too but it's something I always thought with 3 man midfields.

    As for the tracking back, you can give your players specific instructions to stay back or help more with defending.

    Workmates matter too, if you're playing with a midfield of high attacking work rate there's a reason they aren't defending.

    Queresma's SBC card is worth the hours spent buying Turkish league players. As is gignac. Cross with queresma and gignac knocka it in with his head.

    The mechanics of the game are improved but the balance isn't right at all, good players are almost impossible to defend against and the keepers are awful - resulting in some ridiculously high scoring games. It's way too easy to score from range and I've never hit the woodwork so often, 5 times in 2 games is just ripping the *. * have they done this year? * mess, can only hope it gets a proper patch to fix this.

    I also see they've removed the option of a guest on UT aswell, ridiculous decision. :47:Ultimate Team is useless to me now as I only ever played with mates. It better be put in the next update or I'll hardly play the game full-stop this year. So disappointed thus far.

    4321, I have two H/H and one H/M, given one of them instructions to stay back while attacking but * still go flying forward. Iv won pretty much every game so far but once I come up against any good * I'm gonna get smashed because literally I'm defending with 4 players most of the time

    You need someone with M/H in there, so they can sit back.

    For a 4321 I'd have...

    H/H M/H H/H

    Or maybe change one of the H/H for a M/M.

    I'm using a 433(5) at the moment and really can't get used to it.

    Not sure which formation is best this time around.

    I'm currently on a 4321 after trying the 433 with a cam and the 433 with two cdms. Neither were working withrough my midfield .

    Changed to the 4321 and have a H/H and a M/M midfielder with a L/H CM right between them. Perfect balance.

    I'm gonna end up moving to the 352 though I can see it. A packed midfield of 5 is my favourite thing in the world. Just have to get better at defending on this fifa to deal with the 3 at the back.

    Wingers are impossible to defend against too, anyone with pace and a bit of balance its just no use. I'm playing a 4-2-3-1 with Gnabry and Coman on either wing and they are tearing * to bits.

    I'm usually good at defending but this year my method is just hope I can time the tackle right or hope the opposition player missplaces his passing.

    I'm assuming there will be a huge patch.

    Haven't got fifa 18 yet but I always have him in my team. Had his inform last year was 86 rated and he was unbelievable for me. Converted him to cam instead of a striker with in form Immobile (88) at striker. Scored goals for fun with that team. Just as well because the defending wasn't the easiest, sounds like it isn't any better this year.
