While it would be fun laghing at their stupidity for dropping him i dont think there is a hope in * of him signing . Also his best years are behind him we need a midfielder who will be there for the long term not just a year or so.

He has never struck me as a world class player. At his peak IMO he was a very good player. But I agree that he seems to be past his peak. Injuries, I agree are a factor.

I am not convinced midfield is where our needs are greatest at the moment. I feel we have a lot of talent in midfield but lack it up front and we are obviously a bit short at the back as a result of injuries. But a great post mate.

Not unless its Stalybridge Celtic I have been watching for the last couple of months.:84: We could really do with a guy in there who can defend and be a playmaker. Not suggesting it has to be bazzabhoy but on top form he is better than anything we have in that position. Come to think of it, he is the only teddy bear that you could even remotely say that about and they are mad to sack him. Personally, I reckon he will stay and the manager will go.

If PLG goes and Bazza stay's then Rangers will be even worse off, it would undermine all managers and no decent manager would join them

I think it was Overkill who asked why we were even talking about this. I think the main reason is because it is a FANS FORUM!!!

If everyone here is honest, then there is no chance Bawwy would even think about coming to Celtic. But this poll is for a debate! Thats all. And its opened up another kettle of worms anyway. Well, two maybe:

    1) When (not if) will PLG go?
    2) Are Rangers are about to implode?

Ferguson will never come to Celtic. End of. But lets talk about the other two points!!!

    Have to disagree...

The fans have made their minds up that PLG is not good enough and if they sell B.Ferguson they will be without their best manager and the new manager will not have the same quality in midfield never mind a captain figure

Last time Ferguson didn't play for Rangers they got beat 2nil off Sanit Johnstone

What they think and the reality is two different things. He's a proven manager, he's a player that never lived up to the hype around him. IF they sack him to please the supporters and keep ferguson, they WILL be worse off. No player is bigger than the club, no matter what.

I cant see him go to the EPL, he already failed there.
In fact not that I wish it, but expect Petrov to look very ordinary today?
SPL players going south find it tough to fit in.

Petrov has been doing good in for Villa. Ferguson failed more so because of serious injuries he had at Blackburn.

I appreciate that in these battles the manager NEARLY always wins - but Shearer managed to get Gullit out the door and I think that wee Barry will win this one too. It's not as if the results favour PLG's argument. The Bears hate PLG already and unless they start turning in wprld beating performances from now on in I think PLG will be gone.

Petrov was always overated by Tic fans, it was apparent when he would go AWOL during games, sure he played SOME first class games, in fact he brought out indirectly or, when he admitted he lacked interest in the SPL.
    Oh well! :87:

Wouldnt say he was over-rated. In his last season he had lost interest, but was suoerb every year previous to that.

Now we are at odds on Petrov. Over the piece he did a great job for us. I don't know if many fans overrated him. I don't think many folk would say he was world class but I'd say European class. When his name was on the team sheet for European games I felt that we'd have a better chance of a result with him than we would without him.
