I am more concerned about us conceding an early goal, as away in europe we seem to fall apart in the opening 10 mins and end up 2,3-0 down. This is my team assuming everyone is fit.

    Forster

    M.Wilson Majstorovic K.Wilson Mulgrew

    Brown(c) Ki Kayal Ledley

    Stokes Hooper

If it was possible i would drop Maj after that display vs St Johnstone. I also have a sneaky feeling if Hooper is fit, then Stokes will be dropped for Samaras and Lennon will try play the way he does vs Rangers. If Mulgrew is injured then it may be Matthews or Ledley at LB and Commons would start, i would start Forrest instead though.

Must get a reaction from the players. Hoping Hooper, Kayal and Wilson are all back and also hoping we play with two up top and go at them. At the back, I wouldn't play Majstorovic based on yesterday's performance. Shakey, nervous, slow, etc.... Can see that continuing Thursday night to be honest.

Looks like mulgrew has some form of hamstring injury or something like that so we have even less cover and cb and lb now.

Big blow. I would've played him, either at LB or in CD. This probably means Maj will start and we'll have to play Wilson at LB. Not ideal, but manageable. Cha and Kelvin in the other defensive positions, for me.

    Matthews -- K.Wilson -- M.Wilson -- Mulgrew

    Forrest -- Brown -- Kayal -- Ki -- Maloney/Commons

    Stokes

4-5-1 with the two wide men hopefully pushing forward a lot with Stokes. I wasn't sure where to put in Ledley, if at all.

based on last week's two games, dreading this :54:

can see us doing our usual and being down 2-0 after 20 minutes; of course lenny will have to carry the can should we lose but doesn't help when he's not being given the resources to improve the team :nonono: if we lose i fully expect one of ki or kayal to be out the door :38:

but of course, i'll be watching hoping for the best; assuming kelvin, kayal and hooper make it i'd play

    Forster
    Mark Wilson
    Kelvin Wilson (if fit)
    Desperate Dan :55:
    Mulgrew
    Brown
    Ki
    Kayal (if fit)
    Ledley
    Hooper (if fit)
    Stokes

in a straight 4-4-2; we need goals after all and since we can't score a fecking penalty to save ourselves we need to avoid at all costs a shoot out....if we even get that far

The players know what is expected on thursday..we have the players and talent to beat this team and so if we dont advance serious questions need to be asked

Not looking forward to this tbh.

Fearing the worst and hoping for the best is the way I am feeling about it at the moment.

As much as I don't want to play Samaras, he is our only viable option because we need to go 1 up front.

(1-1 Celtic to go through on away goals.)

When we play samaras the whole objective of our play becomes:

Long ball up to sammys head
    Sammy heads it on
90% of time, supporting striker doesnt get on the end of this knock on..or else if he does, then he is the only player attacking (none of the midfield bother their * to attack in numbers)

I think we need to have an attacking formation, the lineup will depend on injuries and whether Lennon is suitably inspired on the night. Playing 1 up front is a waste of time, it just means we won't score. I think Sion will definitely score so we need to make sure we score more than them.
If it's the same old * of nobody trying to shoot, i would get Paddy on at half time in a free role and let him run at them, also maybe playing through balls for Stokes. I don't think Samaras should play.

I really hope so, as well. Hooper, in particular. Although, I reckon we'll without them if we have to.
