    Dre doesn't write his own lyrics FFS.

    Calling Tupac overrated is laughable also.

    Whoah lads don't disagree with the don dodda of rap here. He called someone "whack" :56:

    I wouldn't be big into rap but I like some of the older stuff like NWA, Ice Cube(first three albums) Dr Dre(only The Chronic and 2001) Some of Snoop Dogg's earlier stuff is good enough too. I used to like it a lot when I was like 15/16 but some of the artists I listened to then I'd be embarassed to listen to now.

    Rap isn't a genre I'm hugely into and I don't/haven't listened to most rap artists. Want to get round to it at some point.

    But my favourite two are two of the most well known, Eminem and Jay Z.

    Some of thr choices on here are soul destroying. Lil Wayne - whiny weezy little *. Dre- as has been said, good producer, not so good rapper, Tupac- cliche and imo well overrated, Eminem- early stuff was great, been pretty pish for a good 4/5 years now, with a couple good tracks.

    For me the classics have to be NWA and Cypress Hill

    If you want to listen to good current rap you need to find guys that aren't pimped by the big labels. B. Dolan, Imortal Technique, Sage Francis, Lowkey
