    haha too true.

    I'll join in, why not?

For me it would be Jorg Albertz, I've held an admiration for him ever since I started following football.

Wee daft story for anyone who's interested...

When I used to play football, I also played for my school team aswell and every Saturday morning I'd go to my mate's house to get him before making our way to another mates house then onwards to school to get picked up. Whilst I was at the first mates house, he'd always have a Rangers video on with the volume pretty loud (this was about half 7-8 in the morning mind) and he'd be getting geared up for the game watching this. If I remember correctly, the video that was usually on was "Best Rangers Goals" or something and sure enough...Albertz was tearing holes in the net with that rocket launcher he calls a foot haha

    Thought he was absolute class.

Just because we hate Rangers as a club and an entity doesn't mean our minds have to be so closed that we can't ever appreciate the skills of at least one of their players.

That wasn't the point of my post. I was questioning the motives of the thread in general, this is a Celtic forum after all.

I wonder if there's a "Favourite West Ham player past/present" threads on any Millwall forums or "Favourite Spurs player past/present" on any Arsenal forums...see where I'm going with this?

All a bit silly and suspect if you ask me, but you'll do well to notice that I replied with "Jorg Albertz". :50:

always quite liked buffel. he used to always eat in a restaurant i worked in and bought me a pint in bamboo when i bumped into him one night.
current players i don't mind alexander, bougherra until recently seemed ok but he seems to be getting into the ethos of the club so * him.

past-Jim Baxter, Davie Cooper, Jim Bett. They were very good players, seemed nice guys and they played at a time when Rangers were poor and didnt do us much harm.

Obviously there are players you would have to admire from a techncial point of view from their 9 period (Laudrop etc) but I cant say I had a soft spot for any.

I felt sorry for that guy. Souness took away his only big chance. Kind of lucky for us though because he was a very good player, far better than the LB they had to make do with (Munro).
