Whether you were at the game or watching at home, in a pub, even if you only checked the result on your phone - what is your favourite ever Celtic game and why?
Mine is this:
Watched at home with my dad but growing up down south I had a lot of United supporting mates and regularly took stick supporting Celtic etc so was great to beat England's best and what a way to do it with Naka's free kick screamer and Artur saving from the spot kick - we were jumping about like mad for both moments - loved it!

Was offered a ticket to this game last minute and went with my friend. Took it thinking we would get comfortably beaten considering the difference in quality of the two teams on the pitch. The rest, as they say, was history. Such a fantastic atmosphere.Boruc17, Bad Ambassador and JML67 like this. -

Ange’s First season, vs SEVCO 3 nil under the lights. The day was magic and it turned the season.

2-1 barca. I slider on my knees into my dog and popped 3 Buttons on my shirt when Tony scored. What a day that was beating one of the greatest sides ever in the game on our 125th.

My favourite Celtic match is a boring selection. Celtic 2-1 Barcelona. I was high as a kite after that game for about 2 weeks. Felt like I was on eccies :giggle1:
I’ll thrown in one a bit left field. We absolutely peppered them and their keeper had an outstanding game. Commons smacks in a worldie just before half time. Samaras makes it 2z Stokes comes up with the goods at the death and Forrest tucks it away. Magical moments to get us to the CL proper.

There are two that will stay with me forever. The first was being there to watch us beating St Johnstone to stop 10 in a row. Best childhood memory watching celtic and there will never be a better league title win.
And the UEFA cup final. Even though we lost, that whole day felt special and it was as exciting as I can really imagine football being. It also happened when I was probably most into football and at an age where I had little else to think about.
So picking one it would be St Johnstone, but those two are on a different level to every other game in my memory.JML67, AdamRS, eire4 and 1 other person like this. -

Great idea for a thread but cannot really pick one myself there are just so many that come to mind. Going back to when I was a kid the 5-0 win at love street to * the league title in 1986 was the first big one I remember as a classic. But thankfully there was been so many Classic Celtic matches to enjoy since then I cannot even remotely pick a favourite.

On a personal level the Tommy Burns tribute match means a lot to me, because it was the only game I ever went to with my brother. He died in May 2022 and despite having Celtic in common, a 12 year age gap meant we were never that close.

Couple from our centenary year were very special.
Home game v Dundee to seal the league with a crowd of I don't know how many - atmosphere in jungle was just amazing.
Then the cup semi and final, 1-0 down in both and winning with those late goals.
I don't know how many last minute goals we scored that season - it was simply meant to be!Last edited: Sep 11, 2024borvebhoy, TheHappyLoss, blackfish and 2 others like this. -
Without a doubt 6-2 demolition derby with MON! 3-0 after like 10mins, the ground was bouncing, the air felt different that day. Was at the 4-0 beating the season before when Viduka decided not to play. That day it felt like we were miles behind. But then in a matter of months things changed!

A few that I can't choose between. 2-0 at Anfield, 1-0 at home to Man Utd, 4-3 Juve, the 3-0 at Parkhead in Ange's first season.
Special mention for the 3-0 at Ibrox when Lubo scored twice and Henrik scored his 50th of the season. -
Either 1-0 vs Man Utd, the place just went quiet as soon as Naka hit the free kick, then boom, bedlam in the stands. Then Borux saving the pen was brilliant. Didn't even realise we'd qualified until about 2 hours after in the association club on London Road.
Or CL qualifier against Spartak when we won on penalties. That game had literally everything on the night but we got the job done.Slaw, JML67 and PaddyJamieson like this. -
