I watch all the games, so stop acting like you're a bigger fan than me (and honestly, it's hard to watch Celtic games from the US). The facts don't lie. Sammy is a good player who is still learning and getting better.

He hardly every shoots? 54 shots this year behind only McGeady and McDonald. Almost 50% on target. Use Google before you say such ignorant things.

And stop patronizing me. Everyone knows he's not the player Drogba is. I'm just showing that when people say things like "it takes him 5 shots to score a goal" that it's a poor argument. Besides, I thought we were in agreement that his form is dipping and a spell on the bench might do him some good. Now it seems you are agreeing with everyone else that he is "*" and should be sold first chance. Make up your mind.

i love the club as much as anybody, but i'd be a lousy striker. he's only as good as what he brings to the club which is currently poor quality football. your argument is putting loyalty toward the player instead of the club. he's currently a liability therefore he must sit.

you say you admire fight and ability to improve for the club's successes. can you honestly say sammy's improved? i can't. he makes the same mistakes every week and he's becoming more greedy with the ball as well. i don't care how much he loves the club or how much he runs his yap in the media. he must sit

We need to compare the stats for the fan IQ of those who blame Samaras for the season and those who don't!!

Agreed. I think this is huge. This guy took a pay cut and came back to a club he fell in love with. The abuse he gets is outrageous. Robbie Keane will give Celtic lip-service but when his loan is up I certainly can't see him taking a pay cut to stay and play for the Bhoys, which is fine. A man should make the decision: what matters more, playing for the club they love or playing for the club that pays. No knock on Robbie for choosing one over the other, but, perhaps unfairly, I think there should be praise for those who are willing to take less to play for passion.

first of all i thought we had settled the fact that he needs to be benched. i obviously agree on that at least for the time being. And i would never intentionally put any player above the club. Just meant that his loyalty would somehow ease my urge to have him offloaded. Also, i was PERFECTLY sure you were going to use the argument that you also love the club as much as anyone but cant play striker. And the answer is that in the same way you can't compare Rooney or Drogba or any world class striker to Samaras, you cant compare Samaras to yourself .. (except if you re some great player in disguise :icon_mrgreen:)

i never said we should sell him at the first chance so now you're putting words in my mouth. i still agree with you that he should sit but you are making him sound like he's in top form which is nonsense. comparing him to drogba and rooney and then saying he should sit are not consistent. so if it sounds like i'm patronizing you, it's just because i'm confused with what your point is. i'm only concerned in the club getting results, not whether sammy is respected or appreciated

You think he doesn't deserve to take some of the blame for what happened in those matches? :97:

I don't see how this has to do with whether or not the fans are too harsh on the big man.

But, I think this is irrelevant. McDonald was going to get us 3.5M and that's why he was sold. A profit of 3.1M cannot be ignored. Also, I don't think Mowbray valued him. I personally loved Skippy and I'm glad for all he's done for Celtic. We'll miss him.

the comparison between myself and sammy exemplifies how silly the comparison between sammy and rooney is, so obviously you get it. i never said he should be offloaded, so you got the wrong guy there. i'm saying he's not currently at top form and should be benched. i take issue when comparisons are made between him and world class players. you can't say he should be benched and then compare him to drogba. drogba isn't getting benched anytime soon because he's quality. that's great that he's loyal. so he won't mind coming off the bench to inject a little energy toward the end of a close game then.

    Too many to name.
Put it this way, if he was dropped and we went on a run of defeats, we'd be slating TM for dropping him and crying out to get him back in. We're fickle Celtic fans who are never happy no matter what. And to be honest, I'd drop McGreedy before big Sammi any day.

Ok, read the words: the only reason that comparison was made was because someone actually criticized him for taking only one in five chances for goals. That's a dumb criticism. I was simply showing that it's a dumb criticism. Do you understand?
