Don't expect anything from Marussia, they're still using Cosworth engines. I thought Caterham might have started making inroads since they're using Red Bull gearboxes and Renault engines, obviously their problem is building a car around them that works.

Has Adrian Newey got something up his sleeve ? ...Red Bull car being ushered back into the garage behind screens so no one can see the car

If that's what they're doing then probably, there's always at least one team who has a technical innovation each season, Brawn GP with the double diffuser, McLaren's F-Duct, Red Bull's flexi front wing and Mercedes double DRS, looks like it's RB with something interesting to hide this year and something for the FIA to ban for next year.

Apparently the Ferrari, Force India and McLaren all have a step nose as well, they just have a vanity panel covering them.

Interesting, but why put "vanity panels" on it during testing? It's not like a step nose is any big secret in F1, all but one team had a step nose last year.

The only thing I can think of is to make the car look better. Red Bull have put a small one on, but didn't put a full one on as they felt it added too much weight, which is also why Lotus didn't put one on. But if it was adding too much weight then you'd imagine the other teams wouldn't put one on either.

You would think they'd only bother with that when the cars are doing promotional work like advertising :smiley-laughing002: I can see the "vanity panel" thing being about a bit more than the cars looks, maybe it affects aerodynamics slightly whether it's on or off similar to the wheel covers a few years ago except they can put it on or off depending on the race. It will be interesting to see what the FIA say about them as I'm not sure on the rules regarding removable parts especially if it does affect aerodynamics in some way.

Why does this years Ferrari have the big massive thing about the drivers head? McLaren and Caterham have it as well, but Ferrari's is massive. The Mercedes is a lovely looking car in my opinion.

Was my favorite sport after Celtic but i don't think i can get it anymore.Watched it for over 30 years and it's getting too much of a rich kids sport.Hate Ecclestone with a passion and any rule that can be bent for Vettel is bent.Just look at all the fines Hamilton has had over the last 2 years compared to Vettel.Changes need to happen, too much corruption.2nd half of last season was the 1st time i stopped watching F1.

It always has been a rich kids sport, but if you have the talent, you will still be spotted.I dont think Alonso or Hamilton or Raikkonen come from money!

I have to disagree mate.Last season was a belter, with more excitement than i can ever remember during the Schumacher era!
Hamilton does get fined easy, but i dont think it is victimisation...i think they are just too trigger happy when it comes to mistakes, because of safety.......which the drivers themselves want!
I cant think why Vettel would get off easy in your mind....its not as though he is driving for Ferrari or Mercedes.I think he is very good...but also very very lucky!
Yes Ecclestone is a *.....but he probably has done more to promote the sport than anyone else, and it is now bigger than it has ever been on the world stage.

Ive known that all MGM.Just cant really get into it,its more than i can explain. Its weird i know they are the finest drivers and designers and engineers. But i hate the money part,Id rather watch a 5 a side game in local park,Because theres no judging.does that make sense.I find F1 so false now.I'm finding UFC to be that way too, hopefully its just me.
