If that had been Hamilton he would have got a 5 place penalty or a drive through, but since it was Bernie's pet Vettel he got away with it.

There was a yellow and red flag first, then the yellow, then there was a green flag which is when Vettel started to race again, then there was another yellow a short distance on just as Vettle overtook Kobayashi. Why there was one green light on in the middle of a series of yellows telling drivers to start racing again is anyones guess, it could have been a malfunction and that's why the stewards let it go.

I don't feel Vettel is a worthy winner at all.

Adrian Newey is certainly a worthy winner, but I don't know anyone who actually believes Vettel was the best driver this season. Alonso is head & shoulders above, Hamilton is better too - and I don't even like Hamilton.

But the fact is, in modern F1 the guy who designs the car is the one that really wins it. And Newey is the best. :notworthy

Im not the biggest fan of Vettel, but he did deserve it in the end.
Him and Alonso were miles clear of the pack eventually.....and whichever won, i would have applauded.

Someone had to win it, and it was a very good year for exciting races.

Re-Newey/Hamilton.....dont think it would be any better than Newey/Vettel.
A lot of people seem to forget how exciting a prospect he was before he won the F1 title.......now it appears people are bored with him because he gets the job done!

Great final days racing in the end, and im glad Jenson got the win!:50:

When he won his first world title it was "the car"

When he won his second world title it was "the car, he can only win from pole and he can't overtake"

Now he's won his third world championship without a better car and having to make his way through the field a lot he "doesn't deserve it" :87:

I really don't know what people expect from the guy, he can do no right in some peoples minds.

Aye.The year before he won his first, he was fantastic to watch.
Im a bit bored with him myself, but he has done nothing wrong in my eyes, it is purely because i like it to be a bit of crash bang wallop and hate when he waltzes off in front.........but that is hardly his fault!
I think we have been spoiled recently;does anyone remember the Schumacher years?Yawn!

I think he is a pretty good guy....albeit not the most charismatic!

He's only done that in one season in his whole career :56: his other two world championships have came down to the final race. I think when people think of Vettel they think about last season only.

As for his charisma, F1 drivers aren't really known for their personality, well not the ones that win anyway. Ever heard Kimi Raikkonen in an interview? He just seems that he can't be arsed with anything :56:

Well that was by far the most exciting season I've seen in F1 and was topped off by a hugely entertaining final race. Disappointed Alonso didn't win but I still maintain that he is the best driver on the grid.

    CANNOT WAIT for 2013 :icon_mrgreen:

It looks like the FIA and Ferrari could be conspiring to strip Seb of his title.

Very snidey if Vettel is stripped of the title. I was desperate for Alonso to win but for him to win it due to Vettel being a few yards inside a yellow zone isn't great.

    Rules are rules I suppose.

Not Snidey at all ...Ferrari had till the 30th to object to that move that Vettel did on lap 4 of the race . It is the rules after all as you point out so its not really snidey ..

Ye ok then...so why was Vettels data panel indicating yellow when he made the manouvre ? and he passed the green light after he had made the move

i still cant see a green flag anywhere lol either way vettels dash was flashing yellow until he went past the green light at turn 4 and all the light around him were yellow up until turn 4, so that is two yellows and one green. sounds like the marshall was a bit quick to jump the gun with the green flag (if there was even a marshall there) and vettel did overtake in a yellow zone.

now i believe the fia dont want to strip his title becaUse it will make them look like idiots plus bernie has a massive hard on for vettel so weither it was an illegal move or not it will never get stripped

Wanted Alonso to win, if at the time it happened they noticed it and it was dealt with then and there and Alonso won the title, I would of been happy, but don't think I would have the same reaction if he was given the win now, can't see them doing it either, either way, Vettel is the 3 time Champion, and I doubt that will change.

Just watched it back, Definitely a Marshall waving green flag before Vettel passed Jean Eric-Vergne.

If the FIA handed the title to Alonso under these circumstances it would be a PR disaster for the sport. For that reason they were never going to strip Vettel of the title.
