I've had it with Formula One, completely.

I see Force India team members have now had to run for their lives, getting petrol bombs lobbed over their heads when they got caught in a running battle between police and human rights demonstrators.

And yet still these * drivers are giving it the party line, "We're sportsmen, not politicians. We know nothing. We do what the FIA tells us, and if they say everything's fine then it's fine."

    What a shower of * spineless *.

There's folk being tortured and murdered out there for speaking out for basic human rights, and these * are still giving it the "We're not politicians" line. No, you're not politicians, you cocksuckers. But you're human beings - and there's other human beings being tortured and killed a few blocks away from your * hotels - by the same people who are financing the race, and indirectly paying your wages. How long can you just turn your heads and pretend it ain't happening?

And how the * can I feel any interest in who finishes a race a couple of seconds ahead of who else, knowing that every one of the participants is a moneygrubbing, spineless fool, who's willing to accept a few sand-* getting it in the neck as long as they get to drive round their * track?

    Utterly shameful.

The Bahrain GP should have been scrapped for good last year, there's plenty of other F1-ready tracks and cities that could have took its place.

That's the crazy part. It's not even as if it's something that's central to the sport, which would seriously set it back. It's a totally expendable GP.

What a character-portrait of Ecclestone and his mates, that they're not even willing to change their plans - which what it really amounts to - in the face of civilians being shot dead, physical and psychological torture of prisoners, and the abduction, assault and sexual abuse of children, as a punishment to their communities.

All of this not at the hands of criminals, but of the government's own National Security Apparatus and Special Forces.

Sport really makes me sick sometimes.

Unfortunately in F1, money means more than anything these days. From the fact that some drivers get a seat in F1 because of their sponsorship over their actual driving ability (Maldonado replacing Hulkenberg at Williams last season is a prime example) to places like Korea 2 years ago and Austin, Texas this year gaining a spot on the GP calendar with no guarantee their tracks would actually be ready on time, to the immoral Bahrain farce of the last two seasons. As far as morals go, Formula One Management (Bernie and co.) have none whatsoever as long as the price is right.

Bahrain deffo shouldn't have gone ahead and hopefully this will be the last race here until human rights and democracy are achieved. A shame really as the track is a very interesting and challenging one. The sand blowing in from the desert constantly changes grip levels all over the track making each lap different and really keeping the drivers thinking.

Lewis is quickest in P1 ahead of Seb and Di Resta who is running the quick tyre.

    Sauber have released this statement:

"Yesterday (Thursday) night at 2030 (local time) a minibus of the Sauber F1 Team had left the circuit to go back to the Novotel in Manama. At 2050 (local time) the 12 mechanics being on that bus noticed fire on the medial strip of the highway. The traffic was slow, cars had their hazard flashers on. On the opposite lane there was no traffic. The team members saw a few masked people running from there over to their lane where a bottle was burning as well. The mini bus moved to the very right side of the highway and went passed the situation. No one from the Sauber F1 Team was hurt."

Absolutely * shocking this race is going ahead :38:

Lost a lot of respect for Vettel after these mind boggling comments:

Disgraceful comments. Would have been better just saying nothing at all.

And don't expect McLaren to say anything; they're a third owned by the Bahrain sovereign wealth fund, plus pretty much ever other team has some sort of connection to them.

Only Force India and Sauber have even tried to acknowledge the problems around the race.

I've always loved watching the F1 but this leaves a very bad taste in the mouth.

His use of that word was describing the callous attitude of the whole of Formula One to the protests, not his feelings on the protesters; indeed, Hand makes it quite clear where his sympathies lie in that post, I agree with every word of it.

People are dying yet all these pampered millionaires want to talk about are tyres. :nonono: I appreciate that its not their fault that they've been put in this position but you think these guys could have got together and made a stand, futile as it may have been considering the Bahrain royal family has connections with most teams in some way or other. Then again, no drivers, no race!

Really, really shameful week for Formula One. And I say that as someone who has always watched F1. :38:

McLaren need to sort this * out fast! Both Jenson and Lewis have been screwed thanks to dodgy pit stops this year, not to mention an idiot driver taking Jenson's front wing off plus rotten luck in this race too. McLaren are throwing the championship away at this rate.
