Every manager is a gamble mate.

Just look at Scolari at Chelsea.

It's all very well having that mindset just now, but what if Lenny goes on to win every game between now and the end of the season, would that be enough to sway your opinion?

As I said in my original post, Barca took a punt with Guardiola and that hasn't turned out too shabby for them, has it?

That I know. But we are in a position that a gamble is a wholly unnecessary and dangerous action to take. We should be looking for an experienced manager who knows the ropes, and who can instill a winning mentality into the team, and who has the knowledge and perception to be able to buy the right type of players for our needs.I don't recall Lennon making much of a difference at all when he was drafted in as Strachan's assistant when we were going for 4IAR.

The Huns would love us to be beguiled into making Lenny manager, on the back of winning some nothing to play for games, with the exception of the Scottish Cup, and Rangers are already out of that anyways.

So to paraphrase I reckon it would be a colossal risk to install Lenny as manager, and take the gamble of giving Rangers 3IAR, and a possible period of domination if they did that.

I also think Lenny as manager would be a sitting duck for all the flak from referees and hun media pundits from day one. We don't need that kind of distraction when we have a league to win back, and progress to be made again in Europe.

I think you'll find he was brought in April 2008, just about the time we went on an unbeaten run and flipped over a 14 point lead to clinch 3IAR :icon_mrgreen:

no one i know(and i only associate with well bred intelligent hun haters)has ever mentioned the term "celtic minded" it seems to be a media term, occasionally paraphrased by inebriated well meaning jungle jims, and another means of having a dig at the righteous good looking people of our land.lets appoint the right man for the job, unlike our disgraceful neighbours,we ve never cared where your from-just where you're at

Ultimately no-one can tell how successful a particular manager will be, until they are given the job.

Same with buying in players, how many big name players have turffed up at every club in the world with high expectations & a big transfer fee - only to fall on their face. Tommy Gravesen, Junhinho at our own club recently for example.

Other players with no expectations, can turn out to be legends - obviously Larsson & Lubo for example.

My point is we can never tell who will be a success, Pep Guardiola at Barca has more honours in 1 season than Frank Rijkarrd or louis Van Gaal did in 5 years. No-one would ever expect that, not even Guardiola.

Lenny like Pep, knows the club & it's personnel - he knows the SPl. This may be a considerable advantage, especially in this financial climate - where spending is limited. He knows the reserve bhoys & he knows the 1st team squad - he dropped Braafheid for Naylor & made an instant improvement to the team....this shows that he understands his squad & knows how to get the best out of them. We scored our 1st goal from open play from a Central Midfielder since pre-season.

I don't think we should overlook Lenny as a manager, because he has never been one. He has the remaining season to show his worth, another massive benefit above all other candidates. Personally I hope he takes it - I'm not going to be swayed by any jhonny come lately & I'm not going to be in favour of Lenny because he's a Celtic man, I just want the guy who can give us the best opportunity for success.

Lenny has an ideal opportunity, lets wait & see.
