Well Bobo stayed firm so it made no difference in his case anyway. Think about what you are trying to condone. Really think about it. You are trying to condone management bullying an employee into leaving work because his contract ensures he is paid money. We cant have it both ways if a player has a contract then he has a contract. We gave it to the player and we should honour it without resorting to the kind of shenanigans that went on.

He was immense for us yeah, one of my favourite players, which should tell you how much bullshit he was talking for him to be able to tarnish his reputation at all.

I liked Kenny Miller when he played for Celtic - thought he was coming on to a game just as we sold him, plus he did score two goals vs Benfica.

I had a slight dislike towards Hartson and Sutton earlier on this season but can't ever say I have or ever will hate them.

Craig Burley is a difficult one due to his role played in stopping the ten, although he pretty much did turn the vast majority of fans against him during his time at Setanta.

Guys like Andy Walker who always seem to go against Celtic in the media are difficult to like despite what they achieved as a player.

I don't like Charlie Mulgrew, but that's about it.

Management smanagement this is football we are talking about here, not how it works. If a player is earning an astronomical wage while well past his sell by date, injury prone and nowhere near the starting 11 of course the club will try and do everything in their power to force him out. Sentiment should go right out the * window.

Bobo was earning 40k a week and was doing * all. No wonder he 'stood firm' :56: Wouldn't we all?

They were both eventually punted and it made all the sense in the world. End of.

Simple as Strachan taking the flak for decisions made at boardroom level in the past and present during his tenure, though im with some of the other posters it still doesn't make it right treating probable modern day greats that way

The thing with Bobo is we never had a great defence he should have been in the team, but because of the contract he was given then he was frozen out to get shot of him, * we hadn't kept a clean sheet away from home in 20 odd matches and Bobo plays at Tannadice and we win 1 nil,oh and he gets motm we both know he was better than Caldwell and McManus mate it was the wages

I don't hate any ex-Celt, as long as they gave 100% for the club when they were here then I am happy, I can disagree with many former players but to hate someone over comments they made after leaving the team is zombie behavior.

Finally some sense. Can't believe there's a hating ex Celts thread. Thought we had a better outlook on football than The Rankers Media, but this suggests otherwise. Lighten up ffs.:shamrock:

Aye, see WGS last season, we just kept losing goals to floated crosses into the box. We were pathetic in the air, remember Zander diamond ripping us a new one with Chico's crosses? * like that was the norm.

Had Bobo in the stands the full time. Was infuriating. I can remember watching the likes of Michael Higdon and Daniel Cousin swing about and bully McManus and Caldwell for the umptenth time just praying for us to unleash him.

I don't think I hate him, I hate what he done. I just think hate is easily chucked about, probably intensely dislike the wee * that would be the best description.

That last season I think, if Bobo had played, we may well have won the league :54:

Some of the reaction against Judas was a bit over the top tbh, even considering what he did

Players get frozen out at football clubs all the time, it's part of the game. Strachan was brought in with the remit of decreasing the wage bill, and getting Bobo off of that was a large part of it, along with Sutton, Hartson et al.

The real fault in this matter lies with O'Neill, who signed aging players onto massive contracts and then left, hampering the incoming manager.

Judas would fit into that category of being hated but no one gets close, the Craig Burleys who slag us off in the media I wouldn't waste my passion by hating them and choose to ignore them rather than getting worked up by their words.

I certainly don't hate the Hartson, Nicholas, Sutton type characters who get pulled to bits for expressing a negative view now and again, I do the same so they have if anything more right to do so seeing they played for the club and know more behind the scenes than. I ever will.

Certain players I struggle to take to rather than hate, Guidetti being the latest one, was something very fake about him from the first minute down to his stereotype footballers arm tattoos, events in the 2nd half of the season sort of proved that.

Brian Mcclair. I never took to for some reason either.

Judas is the only ex player that I would say I hate. We never wronged him and he disrespected Billy and betrayed us. He is an absolute scumbag.

I have no time for Di Canio but dont hate him, same for Kenny Miller, In fact the Miller situation was of our own making. His view is that he was also forced out of the club by corporate management despite football management wanting to keep him.

As for other players like Sutton and Craig Burley, I might disagree with their views but the comments these guys get is way ott.

There is a very hun like trend particularly on this forum, where a collection of posters jump down the throats of ex players if they dare to voice criticism of us currently. Last season Jackie Mac and Frank McAvennie were getting it, what the * was all that about? Frank dared to question certain things, and the loopers on here actually were saying that Jackie was trying to injury our players.
