Sutton wants what is best for us, if others cant see that then they are blind.

And how exactly has he showed that?

He's went a very intriguing way about it.

Look I know that scapegoats are needed and all that and people like to be told what they want to hear but do you honestly think that Big Sutton has it in for us or has some sort of agenda? Be honest.

His criticisms of Delia were completely over the top and went on way to long into the season

    Scapegoats for what exactly?...

And if you must know, I do think he does. He hasn't been shy in letting it be known either. He made it clear he wasn't happy with how Strachan and the club treated him.

His criticisms of Ronny in the beginning were way out of line.

You probably didn't realise because yours were too.

His treatment by WGS was pretty below the belt. And then Strachan was at an awards do where he and his wife and Sutton and his wife had to sit at the same table. WGS didn't even acknowledge the treatment of Sutton. Totally disrespectful.

Wee *. Scowling face, dirty tackler, terrible player and should never have been signed. I remember when he joined and posed with the jersey, it looked like Gordon Strachan was helping do Make a Wish for some sick kid. The guys looks malnourished and under-developed.

Ok gotcha, he should toe the party line and lie to appease the fans who read his column. His opinion counts for nothing just tell the fans what they want to hear.

He still has a lot to do to get near Lennon who was world class tactically. He has shown that he can learn on the job but even still I think we would have been better of with Lenny. That is not to say that Ronny can do a fine job either. Like Sutton I am not afraid to tell the truth (from my point of view) and my opinion is that Ronny will not be as good for us in Europe as our last manager was.

I'm not even arguing that point though.

Sutton was past his time, and Strachan wanted a new era.... It worked out for us, and it was best for Sutton and Hartson to move on imo, and make way for JVoH and McDonald.

That aside, sutton was one of our best paid players (deservedly so)

The only point that I was making though, was that Sutton has been vocal about his thoughts on the club, and how he felt he was mistreated...

And that was the reason I said I believe he does have a slight agenda against the club

I said his criticisms were way over the top, out of of proportion to what was happening. It has nothing to with him toeing the party line. He could have given reasoned criticisms and people would have understood but he went way over the top.

In fairness we did pull a * move on Sutton the same way we did with Balde (only bobo stood firm). If we indeed did try to force him out when he had a contract then it is the people doing the forcing that should get the scorn of the fans, not the victim.

And they certainly did get the abuse... until we realised that it was actually best for the club..

having bobo on 33k a week, whilst being past his best, and only good enough for the bench and not getting any better is absolutely suicidal... even though at the time, i was * off. I soon realised that it was time for him and the likes of Sutton and hartson to go.

It was the sad end of a memorable era, simple as that.

We were second in a one horse race in January, this deserves criticism. Also we should not be hounding men for criticism as I am sure that Ronny will make mistakes again in the future (as all managers do). No one should be above getting called out for making poor decisions and I include Sutton here as well with some of his comments. The hate that Sutton gets though is beyond the Pale. The man was immense for us and I think he genuinely wants to see us do our best.
