No but he did tell the truth saying that Ronny was going to work under him and he was met with a lot of hate for it.

My point extends to not only boardroom stuff but any line of thinking that is perceived at undermining current policy is met with scorn.

I think people would rather hear what they want to hear rather than an apparent dissenting voice. (I am not thinking of Lenny comments here btw)

I think he has a legitimate claim to being hard done by in this regard to be honest. Did he actually say this in public? Im sure he said it privately and all that

Well you've changed the goalposts there lad - first you made a general comment saying "any sort of questioning of boardroom policy by ex players is met with immediate hate on this forum.", now it's gone to what "some" of our ex pros have commented on.

Attacking my use of the english language in an attempt to derail this. Well let me put this in a way you might understand:

I cant think of any ex player who has said something publicly, that can be perceived as being critical of our current policy without said player receiving a torrent of abuse on here.

 

Don't think he has moaned about it either.


And no, I don't think it would be a criticism of the board, unless specifying that circumstances at Celtic are difficult just now is a criticism. I don't think it is, think you'd be a touchy * to think so.

 

Me aswell,Jackie was a great servant to celtic for 10 years.You could see the day he signed for wolves he was gutted to be their because celtic * him with * contract offer.I think the poster who hates him is maybe down to fact he dosen't want to sell his striker to us.

Another example of this extends to ex players who say that Sevco are the same as oldco. Of course I know this to be untrue but players only think about it on the park. Companies, liquidation, balance sheets etc mean nothing to them. They see a team calling itself Rangers playing out of Ibrox and they consider this the same. If some of our ex players say that they think that the spiritual successor is the same as the aul wan then they dont deserve all the hate that comes their way either. Right or wrong it does not matter some of our ex players deserve respect no matter what they say.

Differing opinions is one thing outright disrespect is another. There is a check list that these people want our ex players to say:
-dont criticize ronny
-dont criticize Lawwell
-dont say the huns are the same club
-dont speculate that we should be spending more
-dont question the logic of selling player x
-dont express embarrassment over what happened with legia
-always big up the club no matter what
-always paint us as bla bla bla etc

For the record there is much that I disagree with when it comes to media notions of our ex pros, I am just saying that on here most of the time it is ott.

 

To be fair lad, you have a cheek to be calling any comment OTT.

As for that list of Do's/Don'ts........just naw.
