European Super League

Our club has already been sanitised enough, joining the EPL would only make it worse.

Joining the EPL or some revised British league is an absolute no.

I'd genuinely rather be part of a European super league than that Gammon *.

 

If the 12 are banned from CL next season will we move up 11 rankings (AC Milan are ranked below both us and the huns) and rd of matches or will they be directly replaced by teams from their country.
We would move up 11 places to 35th and huns from 55 to 44th place.
We, if moved up stages in comp would move to either 3rd rd or play offs and huns would move up to playoffs or directly into groups

 

It really does seem that they are intent on going through with this.

Though I have a feeling one or more of the EPL clubs will back down. Which is a shame because this has been the destruction of the EPL I've always dreamed of.

They're so blinkered that they don't realise they're all part of the problem. They've been in this sky/money bag's bubble for so long that they believe club's like City are some elite force with a fairy tale story..

It'll be the best thing that's ever happened to club's like us if this goes ahead..

 

I want this to happen soo bad, to burst the epl bubble, but can't see it happening. They'll do a u-turn and probably get even more money.

Would love it, if UEFA went full on parent mode and went with a punishment saying "the few ruin it for the many" and ban EPL Serie A and La Liga teams from CL and europa.

Just so then the rest of their neighbours domestically go absolutely batshit at them.

 

Let's be real though.

DD would be walking around * * and forever erect at the even the sheer thought of Celtic being asked to join, he'd * go into this no questions asked.

It's perhaps a good thing Scottish football is where it is as we might have been added to that group.

oh, I really do think this is going ahead.
unlike previous breakaway ideas where it was a lot of maybes and could be's this has been set up in secret over the last few months.
all the money and structure has been put in place before the announcement was given a few days ago, and you can bet that most of the sponsors associated with the CL and Europa League will be waiting to rip up and void contracts due to the big teams pulling out.
the EPL are praying and hoping that one of the teams will crumble under the pressure and pull out and start a cascade of teams doing the same... and I can't see that happening.
remember, the people behind this are buisnessmen looking at a global product and won't be swayed by threats from a sports organisation like UEFA or FIFA.
there is nothing UEFA can offer these clubs to make them change their minds, what, offer them a guaranteed place every year in the CL ?... no chance, every other club in Europe wouldn't allow that.
so this is going to happen. the super leagues lawyers have had months to comb over every letter of the law to make this air tight.
this is why the super league are being so brazen, they know UEFA/FIFA are powerless to stop them.

* UEFA - if they ‘need’ Celtic in the competitions then why the * have they (more often than not) made us qualify despite us being member league champions!?

I’ll tell you why - the * know they can hoor most games in the league group stages for obscene profits irrespective of who is playing, but they need vaguely interesting ‘names’ to generate any interest in the qualifying rounds (beyond the support of the 2 clubs involved).

It’s always been about politics and money!

 

All this fake outrage and piousness from clubs who would like to be invited but weren't, all of whom were happy to take Murdoch's £mmms just for turning up these last 3 decades....if you dance with the Devil.....

 

Because its harder to finish 4th in a good league than 1st in ours perhaps?

 

Why do folks think this is the end of the EPL?

The teams involved aren’t leaving that competition - just the CL.

There’s no way they’ll be kicked out of their domestic leagues - UEFA still make a stack load of money through the big domestic leagues - they ain’t about to ruin themselves completely by demanding that member leagues kick out their biggest earners.
