Then the Milan clubs release a statement that includes a sentence that starts with " The pandemic has shown"

Yes, the pandemic has shown a few things. The short-term cutting of cloth accordingly would lead to far too much criticism from fans and they don't have the balls to take it. And The Glazers aren't going to part with any money, and why would they???

Obscene. Although what do you expect when Hedge Fund * and Russian Oil Crooks have the red carpet rolled out for them at the start.

American sports are also far from universal.

It matters little to people outside of the USA that the NFL is a closed league system because there is no American football team rooted deeply in their community.

The European Super League threatens to annihilate a sport that belongs to billions of people across the globe.

A board member from one of the six clubs had told Sky that -

•maximising revenue and profit is the aim and the greater good of football is a secondary concern.

•Founding members knew their would be a back lash but said they basically don’t care

•ESL would be secretly delighted if players were banned from international duty.

•One of the PL clubs said they would be up for leaving the PL if that’s what’s they have to do to get the coin.

•They would prefer less football.

How self obsessed are these *. Do they not realise that the international duty ban isn’t for them, it’s for the players and meant to turn them against it.

It would end up like the Chinese league. A few average overpaid players that are willing to give up the usual things footballers strive for.

 

It wouldn’t even be close to ‘Elite’ clubs in terms of sporting success ... it’s just about revenue..

Tottenham - nothing since a cup in 2008 or so and 60 years since a league title..

Im all for it mind you..... anything that disrupts uefa and the epl can happen ASAP as far as I’m concerned.

Yep. It would turn souless by its second season probably before that actually. It would be hard to come back to the domestic league too, they wouldn’t be welcome and would be far too financially ahead of everyone else.

 

This entirely, the nfl has been how it is since its inception, these guys are now trying to drastically change the structure of football that’s been happening for over 100 years and will plan to destroy 99% of other clubs make no mistake about theyll want to be the only show in town much like the nfl and that means goodbye to the majority of clubs in Europe. All so some hedge fund * can line his pockets.
