I honestly think if you really really wanted a ticket for Barcelona, Ajax or Milan you would of got one.

I'm taking my nephew who is 8 ( who isn't a celtic fan) who loves Barcelona to the barca game. He can't wait. What other chance would he get to see his idols?

Am I bothered that he's getting a ticket when other 'big' Celtic fans are missing out? Not really, because as I said if you really wanted one you would have got one.

Exactly. Celtic (or any club for that matter), gave up on considering 'whats fair' years ago, it all comes down to maximising revenue. This way they can shift season tickets and they know it. Living so far from Glasgow I knew the only way I could get tickets for the bigger games was by buying a season ticket, and there were plenty of others in my situation.
Ideally I think there should be some way of recording details of who was at games like Killie, Ross County etc, and giving those fans at least a chance of buying a ticket for at least one of the CL games.

He isn't though, fact is if you really want a ticket for the CL games then you can get one, you will just have to pay over the odds for them.

There are ways to get it but i don't want to get into a debate about that.
This whole debate about season ticket holders getting priority on their own tickets then extra ones is a reward for buying a season ticket.

Yes it means that those who know season ticket holders will be at an advantage but as i said just look on a few forums and you will find people selling their tickets.

For those coming from abroad, and i mean America not Ireland then if you can afford the flights over you can afford the asking price for tickets off punters, i am not saying its right to charge over the top for tickets to your fellow fans but its a pretty simple supply vs demand model, low supply high demand equals high prices.

While what you say about supply/demand is obviously correct , I still could not charge a fellow Tim over the ticket price. I was lucky enough to have been in Seville and our group had a "spare" ticket that was sold to a fan for face value and in other cases we have done the same thing, obviously the Seville ticket could have went for the most.

There aren't always ways to get that kind of money, no way. Also, you can't make a contentious statement and then refuse to get into a debate about it. It is relevant to the thread due to the issues raised on the previous page.

I'm aware of how supply and demand work; bit they don't work in a vacuum. They work within a framework that can be more or less equitable. In this instance the law of supply and demand would work itself out differently were the club to distribute the tickets in a different manner. In the interests of equity (the subject of this thread), I would contend that the more tickets acquired at face value rather than at a whatever price the holder can get for them (supply and demand), the better.

An example of how supply and demand operate within a certain framework. People often quote supply and demand as an immutable law of the universe in order to imply that debate on fair pricing is illegitimate, yet in fact they only operate where (and to the extent that) we as a community or society decide they should.

I don't go to the games very often....main reason.....the cost.

The reason behind not being able to afford it is not just down to the cost of the season ticket and the traveling too and from....I have a bus pass due to my disability...but to be able to use the season ticket and guarantee the saturday/sundays off for the games I would need to change my availability at work which would affect my contracted hours.

As it stands I am entitled to one weekend off a month,I do normally get two off a month but my work aren't obliged to give me that....being disabled I'm only able to do a max of 16 hours, over 4 days and a max of 4 hours a day.....that is all i can cope with....so my hands are tied basically.

Am I going to the 3 CL games? yeah I am.....I have a 3 match package....am I a glory hunter? Nope....I go to games when and if I can depending on if I have someone to go with and if I'm not in too much pain.....I sympathise with those who go more regularly than me but if I was able to I would be there every game...like I did for many many years before.

I would argue that a general sale of 15K tickets would actually see second hand selling prices rise.

i understand the point about not havin the money as it is expensive.but if you don't have the money then it didn't matter if it went on general sale anyway.
