    Aye..

Would rather avoid them. Lacazette, Sanchez and Ozil against our defence? The window might change both teams a bit but not enough for us to knock them out..

Wouldn't thrash us but if the two teams were to meet just now they would beat us home and away.

No point being delusional on where we're at on the European Stage..

We only scored one goal in three games at home in the CL this season, and were just beaten by a relatively average Anderlecht. Arsenal would beat us away for sure at the moment, and our home form hasn't been great for a long time.

People thinking we could beat Arsenal are in dreamland, hammered bate with a reserve team. If they play the same way they played against man United they’d put 5 past us, Dortmund would spank us too.

Arsenal are average. Better than us obviously but wouldn’t hump us if we were on our game.

They won their group at a canter utilising their squad to the max.. we need confidence and momentum would want to avoid them at this stage.. there are far better draws for us.

I think we are better in knock out football if the qualifiers are anything g to go by

Would that not be more the fact that the teams in the qualifiers are much, much poorer than the teams in the groups?

Just like every team in the Europa League will be much poorer than Bayern and PSG.

Yes, though I fail to see the relevance of your point.

My point is the EL knockouts are more comparable to the CL qualifiers than groups in terms of quality and set up so your point was actually irrelevant :50:

Eh, not really since I was replying to littlekennie who was suggesting we are better off in knockout football versus group football due to our performances in each this season. The quality of the EL teams have nothing to do with that since we have yet to play anyone in that competition. The difference in performance is due to the higher quality of team in the groups, not the nature of the competition.

Think you’ll find we played Astana and they are in the EL knockouts. :50:

But you keep trying to argue that losing to Bayern and PSG has anything to do with us at that level...

I agree mate but would take them. Ano I was raging on Tuesday but we all were.

It defo wasn’t the Celtic we all know last Tuesday. But we can beat nearly anyone on our day at home.

I really hope the players and manager don't think like this.

It seems like we might as well just not other playing. I don't get why the anderlecht result has made everyone so negative. We had a job to do and we did it.

I don't think we would comfortably beat any team that's in either pot of Europa but over 2 games if we have the right attitude, tactics and performance we can beat any of them.

Last season we drew twice with Man City we were the first team to take points off them when they were unbeaten and that team would still beat this season's arsenal. The game against Bayern at home and anderlecht away, it shows we can perform and we need to keep at that level.

I don't think there's anyone we should fear, however if we don't turn up we could definitely get hammered but that's down to the players and manager getting the full setup correct. I genuinely think we can beat anyone on our day.

I am not arguing that at all, in fact I am not even talking about Bayern's or PSG's quality having anything to do with what is coming up in the new year. I am not even talking about the EL at all, but the idea we are a better knockout team based on the qualifiers. If I have misunderstood littlekennie's post then fine, I am wrong in what I said to him initially, but you have been talking past me a little bit here since you decided to answer for him, my friend.
