Just thought I'd start a thread to tell people what the draw was. That's all.

    Then why are you glad?:smiley-laughing002:

For all we know they could be quality, they also knocked Lyon out and although they are not the team they once were we would probably still struggle against them in our current state.

Kind of glad the salzburg game is first tbh. Just get the hardest game out of the way, take the loss, more than likely as they're a very good side.

Hopefully then take 9 points from the next 3 games. Not an easy task, but i think we have to be aiming for that. Then a case of doing what we can in the last two. Think 9 points is the minimum, 14 would be excellent.

We really should go on to the next round, we probably won't, but we should.

Red Bull Salzburg, I can see them beating us twice.

    Their attacking options are unbelievable:

Jonathan Soriano (centre forward) - 106 games, 96 goals, 37 assists.

Alan (centre forward) - 112 games, 75 goals, 34 assists.

Sadio Mane (left wing) - 87 games, 45 goals, 32 assists.

Kevin Kampl (right wing) - 88 games, 20 goals, 43 assists.

Looking at those stats the Austrian league must be INCREDIBLY *:56:

Don't get me wrong they are good players and I am wary but you would have expected them to pump out Malmo if they were that good.

They play some decent football under Adolf Hitler if I am correct as well should be an interesting tie.

Never realised Gerard Houllier was their director of global operations:56: I think we should sell our soul and be bought over by Red Bull.

I really don't know * I'm doing here? Just bored I guess and surfing through some different fan-pages. But nevertheless, I watched Salzburgs two games against Malmö.

The home leg should had been 5 or 6-2 to Salzburg if you go by how the game was played, utter domination from their part for most parts of the game. That Malmö survived that game with (a goalie blunder in the last minutes of the game to save them) and only a 2-1 score defeat is a pure miracle. Malmö had some great chances themselves to score though. Their defending can be really suspect at times. But I think Salzburg hit the woodwork at least three times if not more. They played with a constant high fore-check, almost ridiculous high, and everything was done in a high pace. And for most of the time, with one-touch football. And shoot when you have the chance. No fumbling around. I'm not surprised that they demolish lesser teams in their league with that style of play (the high fore-check and high pace) but against better teams they will pay, it's a bit risky (and it has cost them in the past as well)

In the second leg, it was a completely different team on the pitch, horrid defending, big gaps, almost zero scoring chances, and Malmö won deservingly. A tactical triumph as well, they knew what to expect from Salzburg that time around. They looked nervous when Malmö scored their first from the penalty slot, and from that on, Malmö was clearly the better team. (Malmö also turned around a defeat against Sparta Prague (2-4) with a 2-0 win at home in the round before to reach the PO on the away goals rule)

So there you go, now you know what to expect from that horrid thing called Red Bull.
    (Maybe?)
