My hate for the EPL keeps growing every year. There were days I even cancelled nights out to watch Match of the Day.
If Celtic ever is turning out to be a toy for some middle east billionaire or any other money grabbing company, I probably have a very hard time supporting us.

Think it's a bit harsh to be overly critical of Ajax tonight. They've probably over achieved in a sense, given the make-up of the side. Especially in comparison to tonight's opponents.

In previous rounds they've had themselves in positions where they controlled the ties, Schalke and Lyon both had to be expansive in their respective 2nd legs. This allowed Ajax to utilise open areas and move the ball around better than they did tonight.

United set out to stifle and did so very well. Darmian and Valencia negated the 1 on 1 ability of Younes and Traore. Dolberg and Klaassen struggled to function in a congested middle in the attacking third and had no room to play in behind or make runs into. For example against Lyon, they had the freedom of the pitch in comparison.

Don't see much of the Dutch League but I'm sure they will have encountered the way Man United set-up tonight during the season. The problem being is that extra bit of quality and extra experience won't make the same mistakes.

They will have regrets about tonights game. A experience which will further the development of the players.

A domestic treble, of course. I probably should've said 'the treble' rather than 'a treble'.

More talking about it in the European context, 'the treble' has always meant teams who've won their league and the European Cup, not two minor domestic trophies and the UEFA Cup/Europa League such as the Liverpool and United examples. Putting this season on par with United's 99 season, even just in terms of semantics, is beyond a joke.

I'd say they're major domestic trophies (not the charity shield) but I agree it isn't on par with 1999.

    Embarrassing for me..

I get that true Mancunians in Stockholm will be feeling abit raw about the whole events but the constant banging on about it and doing it for Manchester, and seeing that tweet is cringey as *..

Like City fan's were dying for United to do it for Manchester. Sorry, that's utter *..

When the old Huns beat us in the league cup final a few years back, a French lad I was watching it with tried to console me with, "At least they won it for Glasgow!" :56:

Did anyone catch Larsson at the start of the program about half 6?

I think Zlatan & Rio Ferdinand laced his shoes before the interview!

    Ooft. Pass me the bucket.....
I know but still. Imagine if it was us and them. You wouldn't even hear this doing it for Glasgow line..

I get it to an extent for true Mancunians out there but I still find it cringey, especially how the media have banged on about it all day..

    From the Graun:

However there have been a couple of poor performances. Bayern Munich finished 10th in the Bundesliga and won the European Cup in 1974-75 but that is not quite as bad as Aston Villa, who finished 11th in Division One when they became champions of Europe in 1982.

Over to the Uefa Cup, then, and the lowest-placed team to win it were Internazionale in 1994. They finished 13th in Serie A. Elsewhere Tottenham finished 6th in 1972 and 8th in 1984, Borussia Monchedgladbach finished 10th in 1979, Eintracht Frankfurt finished 9th in 1980, Bayer Leverkusen finished 8th in 1988 and Schalke finished 12th in 1997.
