Harry Kane has a great record in every competition he has played. He also has a lot of assists for a striker. He is a top player. He gets far too much criticism that is unmerited.

I don't know how much blame can keep getting thrown at Southgate. He has done better than other managers who also had good players to choose. Too often a lot of the performances are players not playing well or the pressure getting to them. They got nervous the other night again.

 

I don't think England were as good in the past as they often thought, they had some top level players but it often involved shoe horning players in because overall their squad wasn't that good. Right now their squad is pretty good from top to bottom.

I hate that England have a striker like Kane but he's amazing. If he had played for Arsenal or Liverpool rather than Spurs then they probably win a lot more over the past few years than they did. How anybody can say he isn't world class is beyond me. Over a goal a game in Budesliga, 29 goals in 44 CL games, 63 international goals.

 

There’s a few in friendlies in the games you mention. By your own admission though, you haven’t watched a lot of England, so maybe have missed him not really turning up in the really big games for them. You are also focusing on club games which I’ve never really debated. I was talking about his performances for England.

 

His record is good. The argument I made initially was that when it comes to the really big games for England, I don’t think he steps up. Have a look back in recent times. World Cup semis/quarters. Euros final/semi. In the biggest of games, he just doesn’t seem to do it. The best in the world win these games for their country. He has scored a few penalties in these games, but in terms of open play, I remember him being largely anonymous.

 

92 appearances for England with 63 goals and 19 assists. He is already the all-time goalscoring record holder for England. He will set a record unlikely to be caught.

England don't turn up for tournaments. When you're the striker is a team that is tentative, slow and negative you aren't going to get the chance to score many goals. It's not Harry Kane that is the problem.

Watched the build up to the Belgium game all I heard was foden Bellingham English feckers hope Slovakia win .... they press high always but will have to be fit for doing that all game . Oh and scotland take note .. go and have a go at teams

Winners are game changers, carry teams and get the result. Internationally you've got Messi, C.Ronaldo, Ronaldo, Klose even Mbappe recently all carrying their nations to keeping them in the game or actually winning the thing.

There isn't a single Kane performance where they could ever be said about him.
