Their still my friends, I've torn into a couple but I kept it light and jovial. My view is if they want to take the * out of me for Scotland getting beat, I can reciprocate but I'm not going to be mean about it.

I know an Irish guy and his 3 kids support England, he was supporting England as he felt the country needed something good to happen as we're in the *. I do get that, but I think we can have that in the Olympics.

 

The 'it's coming home' thing annoys the * out of me. They've never won it, won the WC once, in their own backyard, and they sing that song as if they're serial winners. HA HA HA

That and * vindaloo. I've tried to explain it to English people that actually we don't really care about your team winning it per say, it's the sheer arrogance of the fans.

Nah it's one of the most misunderstood songs out there, It's an ironic song that talks about the pain since 1966 to be England fan but still dreaming of a trophy despite all the heartbreak.. no arrogance in the lyrics just self deprecation with a bit of hope and then more self deprecation

When they start comparing our records - I just explain how Scotland always begin at a starting point of abject disappointment and low expectation… anything progressing us above that is a success.

Whereas… England… it’s always ‘this time’ ‘coming home’ ‘best squad’ endless spouting about wining stuff that all comes to zero.

Shuts them right up.

 

Funny though…. There wasn’t a word about football in the office earlier…

 

If a nation of over 50 million people can't produce a team that can win these things then how the * do they expect a nation of just over 5 million to do it! They have 10 times our population and still they struggle.

 

For me it's not about the population. The best league in the world, 3 Spain players play in England (2 play in Saudi and 1 in Qatar). England is filled with academies spending millions each year. The amount of money England has spent on football in the last 30 years is why they should be winning competitions.

 

Anyway…, now that shites over for another couple of years …
