Completely agree. I think this Spain side is as good a watch as any the past ten years or so. That midfield of Rodri, Ruiz and Olmo is ridiculously good - physique, technique, elegance, dynamism. Then obviously the two wingers. They can mix it up too in the way they attack without losing control of the game.

I agree with @Mr Shelby generally about the state of football and this tournament (since the knock outs), but disagree that this Spain side aren't anything special. Love watching them.

I think I'm probably doing a disservice by comparing them to teams of the past.

I'm very critical of football at the moment:56:

I don't think there were many standout games from the groups tbh. Were many games more than say 3 or 4 goal involvements? Absolute max.

Again, I'm probably being too nostalgic. But think there's a lot of average national sides nowadays.

It actually reminds me a bit of Euro 2004, which was high scoring in the groups but died a death in the knockouts, with big teams and big stars underperforming.

Dutch fans outnumbering the Engerland fans by 4 to 1..

With a bit of luck the Netherlands pump them and there’s some post-match street performances to add to the occasion.

I can see a late midfield run from Fermin winning the trophy. He's been exceptional at that with Barca last season.

No chance does any of the teams pump anyone tonight. We'll be lucky if either ventures out the box more than twice a half.

Group Stages were excellent and comparable to any Tournament over the last several. There were loads of quality games, even amongst smaller nations. Switzerland, Austria, Slovakia, Slovenia all played well in spells.

Knockout stages have been cagey as * though which have meant they’ve been boring but last night had a lot of quality on show.

Fair enough, I'd still disagree on the groups. Thjnk quality games were few and far between other than when watching certain sides. Switzerland, Turkey and Austria my standouts other than Spain.

The boy Lamal is something else, 16, jesus.

Finally bagged a goal, his shooting has been erratic, but what a way to do it.

The likes of Rodri, Olmo and even Cucurella have been immense too.

Obviously want the Dutch to do it, but just can't see it, but here's hoping. Bizarrely enough Orange is my fav colour, lol, and happy to be an Orange man tonight, lol :p

    Please do the business later..

Surely that fraud Koeman has to start Frimpong and bring in Malen as well. Start Wijnaldum in the middle instead of Simons in the 10..

He should take out Bergwijn, Simons and Depay for me..

Get Van de Ven in at the back for his pace. The Dutch have loads of pace to cope and exploit England on the break but he'll probably go with the same pish that flatter to deceive for them every tournament..

You know what, actually really looking forward to this game tonight. It’s there to win for both teams and I think in a semi final you surely can’t just play for penalties as there’s too much on the line

I like what Didi said on RTE, there is a palpable team chemistry edge seen with Spain against every team they faced. I see similar with Holland and that having an influence on the outcome but I thought similar with my Suisse

Looks like Deschamps is staying until the next World Cup.

Think that's quite cowardly from France. Last two Euros they've been really poor and they should have beaten Argentina in the World Cup.

FFF pragmatic as ever, I suppose Zizou will have to wait for things to align again - much further into the future

Likely caps a career with Les Bleus for Griezmann - I think he should've played more in the Euros but then there’s that pragmatism again

That French sides stale and Deschamps has had them looking terrible for years and years considering they've had the biggest pool of quality in world football during his tenure..

Kounde at right back, who isn’t even a natural fullback and then had Pavard on the bench who gets no game time. Why no just take Gusto?

Doesn't bother his * to call up Olise who was versatile to play in the 10 like Griezmann or in his switch to a 4-3-3 but wide right..

You could go on and on about players he could've went with and played with a swagger but he just won't..
