I was born here, have the accent and honestly my view is that they rip into Scotland all the time. I'm fed up of the "we'd support you" well fair enough, but only if we won. If you can't take it don't give it. No sympathy for them.
My girlfriends family always say they hate football, suddenly they love it, they cling on to success

Aye it was the constant comments about how he’s made for these occasions. Such a riddy when some of their own squad has actually won big trophies.

I see he’s also 25 so not exactly a up and coming youngster.

Why didn't some of the more senior players step up and take a penalty ?

Maybe the more senior players have been missing penalties in training during the week. Only thing I can think of tbh.

Either that or they didn't want the life sentence of failure on their back, for missing a penalty in a major final, who knows.

I think it's at a time like that you would be looking to your more experienced players to step up.

They bottled it, pure and simple. Poster boy Grealish didn't want anything to do with it and Sterling who has won a number of trophies and plays with the champions of England didn't want it either.

This nonsense of they missed there last couple of penalties ages ago, should make them want to go and prove they can do it

I think it's more the arrogance of youth rather than older players not wanting to take one.

Grealish has said this morning that he wanted to take one, it was the manager that chose which players would take one out of the players that wanted to.

I think the young lads were probably right up for it so he(thankfully)chose them.

Aye you could also argue that had they scored they would've been heroes, just not sure it was a risk worth taking, but of course hindsight is a wonderful thing lol.

They are the Huns of international football.

They hate anyone who is different.

Brought up on a diet of right-wing chauvinism WATP xenophobia.

The world was rejoicing in their demise last night.

Rashford has played nearly 300 games and Sancho 150 all at higher levels than Grealish. Saka was the only odd choice.

Would surely seem very dumb and foolish if Southgate hadn't insisted on those two taking penalties in the first 5 after bringing them on with 30seconds to go.

Southgate’s decision, from what I’ve read.

They'll never have a better chance of winning a trophy for a long time. 6 out 7 home games, no travelling backwards and forwards across Europe every few days, injury-free squad for virtually the whole tourney, (relatively) easy route to the final. Yep the 3 Lions(French Lions btw. From the Plantagenet line but that's another story) well and truly screwed the pooch. And it is JOYOUS. From the unequaled arrogance from the likes of Ferdinand to Sky sports with it's "it's almost home" countdown clock to the En-ger-lund fans of all ages(and it is the majority, men, women and children of all ages) who boo the opposing teams national anthems at every game, tournament or friendly, Germany or Lithuania, to the knuckle-dragging scum who seemingly devote their lives to the pastime of being obnoxious GIRUY!
