I think Carroll should start along side Rooney, its going to be a game of nicking chances and I think he is the one up top that will be better suited to taking them.

 

England to win,thanks to Rooney,Balotelli to chuck it 10mins in.

 

Di Natale needs to start this, don't think England has the defenders to cope with him.

Midfield is just Gerrard vs Pirlo, that will be interesting.

I have a feeling England will win to be honest, as * as they are. Atleast that way Germany will be able to humiliate them in the semi-final.

 

England team is unchanged.

Hart, Johnson, Terry, Lescott, Cole, Milner, Gerrard, Parker, Young, Rooney, Welbeck.

 

Gerrard and Pirlo have been excellent so far, driving force of their teams.

English midfield is weak with Parker and Gerrard, they really miss Lampard. And they're awful at RB, Micah Richards would've been a much better option than Johnson. Cole was pretty good at LB defensively.

It might be a boring game, but Italy have changed their style slightly and aren't so boring as they used to be. England though will probably be crap 'til 70th minute when Walcott will come on and shake them up.

Very nervous about the game. If it was down to football ability alone then Italy would win. But the luck England have on their side recently coupled with the fact we seem to fade away after the 60th-odd minute makes me very worried

 

Fancy England if I'm honest, don't think it will be a classic .. predict 1-1 with England winnig on pens.

cant beleive how defensive england played against ukraine, was rather embaressing tbh

england are just going to try grind this one out, but hopefully italy being a step above them will put them out

 

Although he's right, he shouldn't have said that, basically done Hodgson's team talk for him. He's gonna look like a bit of a * now if England beat them

What are England going to do anyways, have a "lets prove him wrong mentality" by playing attacking football? It'd play right into Italy's hands.
