Of course England are going to be better than Scotland. Look at the difference in population. For every good player we produce, you could produce twenty good players.

Doesn't change the fact though, that despite claiming to have the best league in the world, you've won * all since 1966. I guess it proves that the EPL is only where it is today because of the foreign players. The England players are evidently nothing special.

 

Just been listening to the England stats on SSN there. They had 11 shots on target, in the whole tournament ffs. Less than 3 per game. Very poor indeed.

 

I think it's important to remember that despite England as a nation being *, they may well have a good case for being the best league in the world because it's not all English players that make up the best in the EPL, far from it in fact.

Of course there's Rooney and Cole but it's the likes of Silva, Aguero and all the rest of the better players that give them a case for being the best.

Not that I think the EPL is the best. I think a lot of daft England supporters rate England too highly because the the English Premier League is so good. When in fact, if you look at the top teams, there's only a handful of English players in each of them. A lot of them average.

 

USA, Russia etc, have a larger population than England. Your logic fails.

 

You're missing my point. I couldn't care less about the performance or the result. It's the same * hyped up by the media every time. It's just funny the way you lot seem to think we're all arrogant and that we'll stomp every tournament we qualify for. It's almost as if Scotland's fanbase is defined by their hatred for the English, when we really just don't care.

 

Your fa backs you with millions every year for youth academies etc something we don't get either.

 

Russia is less football orientated than England though. Ice Hockey, "winter" sports and basketball are all very big there.

 

With 0 goals and 0 assists at least Stewart downing can come home and say he played to his full potential

Forster, Ferdinand, Richards, Johnson, Sturridge and Hooper should have been there instead of Butland, Kelly, Jagielka, Henderson, Defoe and Welbeck

I would have kept either Welbeck or Defoe and got rid of downing instead. He was shocking all season, contributed nothing at all, his inclusion was baffling

also in the usa football or soccer as they call it isn't the number one sport over there its well behind american football , basketball baseball and ice hockey so your logic fails

 

They don't claim to have the best league in the world and then fail every time they get put under a bit of pressure though. Their media also don't overhype and overrate their chances to *. Therefore, your reasoning fails.

Also, I don't know if you are aware of this, but the USA aren't eligible to compete in the European Championships. If they were, they would more than likely have also * Engerlund.

 

roy hodgson said in an interview ( think it was before sweden game ) that he brought along players, not neccessarily to play them - its when he was being asked about rio ferdinand, maybe it was before the france game

Not too sure mate, but Ocky seems to think that England are that much better than both Russia and USA. I don't think that is the case at all. It has been proven already that the English national team consists mainly of a group of average players at best, with only a few standouts. Rooney and Gerrard are the only ones that I'd say pose a real threat to teams like Italy, Spain and Portugal and even then, they were both anonymous last night.
