Euro 2012 Group C

Ireland had one * of a tough group, even England would be lucky to come out of that with a win, dont be hard at all on yourself, head held high

 

Given has probably been the worst player on show at the Euro's, absolutely woeful each game. Let himself down because he's still a more than decent keeper.

Fair play to Keith Andrews, put in some wholehearted performances. The only Irishman to step up.

 

I hope he will not be our new coach... Imo best solution would be Zlatko Kranjcar or foreign coach..

I don't think it is, because if you play with 2 strikers from the beggining, Spain have lot more open space and it's very very hard not to concede a goal in that case...

I think our strategy and tactics were great... Spain maybe had 1 decent chance during the whole match... (apart from goal)

Rakitic missed a big big chance in 2nd half... (p.s. there was penalty on Corluka in 80th minute)...

Although Spain wouldn't have won win if we played with one striker all the time...

we deserved a draw..

imo we show how to play against spain...

 

Spain only needed the draw though.

 

I most definetly called Rep. Ireland performances correct.

Irish supporters are the first champions of Euro 2012

All Italy has been impressed since game against Spain.
Italian commentator stopped talking, and the following day everybody was talking about.
I made a short research about the song, discovering the title and the words....when I repeated to some friends of mine we got emotionned.

I thank * to give me the chance to live 6+ months in Ireland.
That has made me better.

 

Do you mean The Soldier's Song (the national anthem) mate? Or Fields of Athenry? They sang that alot during games



edit: It's actually unreal how much the praise the Irish fans are getting is very similar to stuff we hear quite alot as Celtic fans :icon_mrgreen:
