Enjoy the celebrations Dimitris M8!. Considering how badly they started in the 1st match - recovering from a totally undeserved double yellow sending off - then fighting back with 10 men, I thought they showed twice as much fighting spirit than either Poland or Russia. Also, I thought they actually played pretty decent football tonight and thoroughly deserved the victory. He who dares wins!

    Συγχαρητήρια!

Yes. It is a pitty Karagounis won't be able to play in the next round. The ref was terrible.

Tbh, I would like the Greeks and them passed the group, but, better luck next time. Also, this was the easiest group, so they can not complain.

As I told, after Czech Russian team felt that they can do it easily... Not the first time problems with psychology.

Samaras was absolutely vital when Greece were up against it, he held the ball up very well. He's one of the players that is clearly capable of stepping it up a level, he could be the man to lead the line away from home in our European qualifiers and fingers crossed, in the group stages.

    * off Greece. Bunch of negative *. They add absolutely nothing to this tournament. I am really annoyed that Russia have gone out to such a boring team. :38:

I honestly couldn't see them succeeding any other way with the players at their disposable. Your right enough though, they do set up negatively. On the upside, at least we've got one player flying the flag for Celtic in the tournament now that Greece have progressed.

I've slagged the guy many times in the past but must admit i've warmed to him over the past months, i felt happy for him tonight.

I don't think many could envisage Greece beating Russia but as they say football can be a funny old game lol.

Ach, it's just so annoying when a team who plays like that wins.

Well done on tipping the Czechs. I hope you had some money on them. I had them down as 2nd favourites for the group.

*, what's the joy of football if there are no outsiders?

Negativity? Ever seen any team in the world who's of inferior quality, play all-out attack and win?
You could just say you don't like greece or the greeks or anything and it would be ok... Everyone is entitled to their opinions after all...
Personally, i would never watch football if it wasnt about surprises and upsets in general.. and actually you know defending well is a part of showing that you have a good team... really can't understand that statement, but wont judge you on it..
And to sum it up, when it happens once you can say it was luck... but when they do it twice, you gotta admit there is something good about them (or us if you wanna judge me for being greek, thought that's not the reason i m supporting them at this moment really - i truly believe everything i said no matter who plays)..

It can be a funny game indeed mate. I would have tipped Russia and Poland to go through before tonight's games kicked off but it was such a tight group.

This group has been a lot better to watch than expected and it's ended the perfect way, with Sammy and Greece progressing. No matter what Greece have done themselves proud now, I don't think many would have had them down for going through that group.

I hope Samaras doesn't attract interest because I'd like him to stay.

Greece were going forward better than the Russians today. Russia looked like they'd be happy with a draw in all honesty.

I fancied Russia to top it with Greece second. Very surprised with Russia.
