Because you make a sweeping statement then demand to be proved wrong when folk say that what you just said was bullshit. It would be like me saying all eskimoes are falkirk fans then demanding you prove otherwise.

Yup. It was Dinamo against Celtic. I think it was 3-0. And Pršo-he puts me in a tough place. I like him, but that doesn't mix well with being a Celtic fan. I've even been called a Hun here due to my appreciation for Pršo. Same thing with Papac. I'm glad he's doing well, but it's not easy for me when Celtic's wingers can't get past him. I'm torn then. I'm a Celtic fan, but I'll cheer Croats wherever they played.

OK guys as I said it was only a rule of thumb and nothing scientific, however if a religious war broke out over europe we wouldn't be fighting alongside the Serbs

So in this (fictitious) religious war (that you just made up) we (you) would be fighting alongside the Croats (not Serbs) because they are Celtic fans?

By this logic I take it you'll be fighting against Danny McGrain and Kenny Dalglish?

Guys, settle down. I'd hate to see 2 good people bicker. There won't be any religious war between us and Serbs. It was never down to religion that much, anyway. I reckon we'd be on the same side against protestants, because we have more in common between us, than with the protestants. A 3-fingered blessing by a Serbian player would wind the Huns up, just like the Catholic one.

You imagined some religious war and now just copy/pasted this? Well done.

As for the link, you don't want to go there. It would end up with this thread closed and me typing mile-long posts to you while you reply to them with smart-* one-liners. I suggest you keep exploring the web, it's interesting to see how many stuff you'll find. Oh yeah, and can you that post a link with Tito presented as mass murderer?

Wigly if your truly interested in the subject i suggest you watch this. There is evidence from respected politicans like lord owen and other intelligence officials.

It basically proves that germans forced the break up of yugoslavia by training nationalists and backing them in the violent conflict that followed.

It then goes on to show how the germans managed to get the yanks and nato on their side.

And furthermore, the most shocking part, how the bosnians consistently bombed their own people and blamed the serbs to fabricate propaganda for the west.

watch it the proof is their.

Whenever talk about war starts people love to do this generalization thing that is highly counterintuitive. Think about it. All the Bosnians turned and bombed their families/neighbors because coming right down to it Bosnians are just plain evil like Cobra Commander's troops in GI Joe or something? Highly unlikely.

Simple fact is war brings out the worst people as well as the worst in people. Especially an irregular war where you have opportunists, charlatans, criminals, and power hungry warlords operating easily alongside (and perhaps puppeteering) those with more altruistic aims. You'll see some bastardly acts from all sides by men driven mad by what they've seen as well as those who only needed an opportunity to let loose some sick desire they've had.

all this Bosnians are x and Serbs are y, or Croats are this and Serbs are that, or even Irish/ Catholics are this and Brits/Proddies are that is cartoony stuff that doesn't play out in real life. If you're part of an ethnic conflict odds are many of the fellas on ur side are just as bad as the mental picture you have of your enemy.
