The BBC are calling them the Gaalacticos. Bit premature, IMO.

That's why I love seeing there teams getting smashed in the CL from the real big guns.

bit early but this team looks like could be sensational. Blind was the pick of the bunch, the less "hyped" player of all. Scary to think what Falcao could add to this team. Defence still looks iffy, jonny is really giving me heart attacks at every stupid backpass to de gea, but Rafael was excellent

yes, it was only QPR but when we had Moyes in charge even against lesser teams it was all a struggle

 

To be fair, Moyes didn't have Rojo, Di Maria, Blind, Falcao, Herrera or Van Persie most of the time at his disposal. The fact is, Van Gaal, managing virtually the same team as Moyes did, was also having similar problems. Hence why he has spent an absolute fortune.

 

Win 1 game and LVG thinks they can win the title.

yes but van gaal just arrived, moyes had an entire season and we still were playing like a conference team on his last day. Plus the team that inherited moyes, with all its deficiencies and problems, comfortably won the league the season before

moyes inspired no confidence in players or fans. If we had played against * FC we'd thought we could be hammered by them. When we draw bayern many of us thought we could be pummeled with double figures at the end of the tie. His cross and hope style really was sheer punishment for the fans and anyone who liked man utd. Went against our history and tradition too. As mroe insight stories come out in the press about his tenure, its mindboggling this man managed one of the biggest clubs in the world, his methods were ancient

 

Jordan Henderson has been announced as liverpool's new vice captain. That is just an unreal rise from him, when Rodgers came in he was desperate to shift him and literally no one would take him off their hands, no he's one of their most important players and probably the first name on the team sheet.

Rodgers has to get a huge amount of credit, his man management and ability to squeeze every ounce out of his players is incredible. Look at sterling too, there was a point where no one was quite sure about him, while he always looked talented he had no final ball and wasn't great technically and was struggling to get into the team. Now a couple of seasons under Rodgers and he's one if the most exciting prospects around and looks technically brilliant.

Im a united fan but I really rate what rodgers has done at liverpool. Hes the only british/irish manager at the moment that has a proper footballing philosophy
